If we play 3 at the back then we are toast. If we want to mix it up we could play Jig and Daly as our CB's and play Mosh up front. He;s got more pace than Daly and is as good a goal threat. Daly has played many times at CB as well

would personally go for 3-5-2 at the weekend, we have zero pace at the back with Jig and Mohsni and if they were left one on one would be destroyed by any player with pace.

Would maybe do what Advocaat done with Tugay once and use Foster as a sweeper behind the two CBs, he may not be great but has a bit of pace the other two don't have.

I actually think that because we all want Ally out so badly, that we might just win on Sat and justify him keeping his job for another season in some peoples eyes.

Weird situation, I'd love to beat Dundee Hibs, but if we do it probably means Ally stays and we don't go up next season. Probably actually best for progress as a club if we lose, bizarrely enough.

Still be hoping for a win on Sat though.

Definitely wouldn't go with 3 at the back, you need good organisation, communication and good quality centre halfs to play that system. We'd end up playing left and right backs in midfield anyway and since wallace is not looking likely to take part it would end up being a 5-3-2. Midfield would be crowded out, we'd be dominated and end up hoofing the ball up to strikers to no effect yet once again.

Its only fucking Dundee united we are playing

aye and that was only raith last weekend :matron:

Its gonna be an interesting game for many reasons, not least being to see how the team responds after losing to raith

also there's the yardstick of how we went in the cup game against dundee utd last season as well: have we moved forward since that hiding?!

Obviously I really want the lads to come out and win this cup semi and to show passion, desire and guts while doing so: elements sorely missed last weekend

but its going to be a real challenge for Rangers, make no mistake.

Losing to Raith really hurt but now here's a chance for the lads to show what they are made of

for better or for worse we are gonna know a lot about the character of this current squad come saturday evening (tu)

your off your trolley mate Peralta is a poor player :21:

so if dundee united are average at best, how do you rate raith?!

Raith are poor but lets not forget we had the lions share of possession and far more chances than Raith, we're a much better side than them and had we played that fixture 10 times over we probably would have won 8 of them, and that's with the players looking like they were barely trying.

This united game is winable albeit everyone needs to get their finger out but don't let one very poor result cloud your judgement, we're playing an average spfl team and hopefully one that has become complacent, we can turn this lot over

We have became so predictable that Macnamara will know our line up and formation before Ally even puts it down on paper.

He has 7 (8) undroppable regardless of form...

Bell

Mohsni

Jig

Wallace

Black

Law

Daly

Foster (Getting to this status)

These 7/8 (and the rest of the squad) KNOW they will be picked, even if half fit or off form.

It sends out a terrible message to everyone of the squad.

It's little wonder next to none of us give us a hope in hell of winning. :(

Said it elsewhere that when players become undroppable so does their desire and form.

It also means there is little point keeping players like Crawford, McAusland and Gasparotto if they cannot get a game in place of those not delivering the goods.

What he should be doing is picking a team to exploit the weaknesses in the United team and not focusing solely on stopping their strengths. If he thinks playing Daly on his own and isolated is the way to win a match he's a bigger clown than i first thought.

It didn't work against Raith and it certainly won't work against United.

He has options to change it but won't tinker too much outside his comfort zone.

Id be far happier if we tried something different on Saturday, it would be easier to accept a defeat if it at least looked like we tried, and you never know, few changes, couple of new faces in the team, we might just pull off a win. We cant however go with this stupid big punt up the pitch from defence to Daly.

Team id go for on saturday.

Bell

Foster Faure McCulloch Mohsni Wallace

Law Black

Shiels

Clark Daly

I believe Wallace will be fit & we are just saying it to play mind games (O'Neil done it for years under them - week before playing a big game saying Larsson etc had no chance then come the game they are fit enough)

As for Clark i believe he has got to start up top with Daly.
