They always play pish at Lord's but that display is awful. Credit to Murtagh. 9 overs 2 maidens 5 for 13. I had to edit that as I had added 6 runs that he hadn't given to England. RangersMedia 35,961
I had to look twice at that score. That is abysmal.
ALerone 633
See ya later Paddy 32-1 England will rip thru this lot & lead by 400 tomorrow lunch.. 😜
Creampuff 22,628
Okay, the pitch is green, but the surface was always looking like it was going to be decent to bat on once you saw off the first 30 overs. England look set for a fucking miserable day tomorrow as Ireland rack up runs on a flatter pitch while the seamers charge in 40 degree heat. RangersMedia 35,961
100-2 lol. what a shocking day for England so far TEFTONG
TEFTONG 60,097
18 wickets down on day 1. Edit. 19 and still 30 minutes to go. Both teams all out in the first day. Wonder if England will lose a wicket in the 1 over before close of play..?

Creampuff 22,628
Based on their tour game (against themselves) I’m not sure Australia will do much better. Hope no one has Day 5 tickets for an Ashes Test!

Hope no one has Day 5 tickets for an Ashes Test! They wanted 100 quid for day 5 at lords. Ive got day 3 and 4 for Birmingham and 2 and 3 for Leeds. Creampuff 22,628
If I’m in the Australia set-up my reaction to yesterday would be to give genuine consideration to picking Peter Siddle. He’s very experienced in English conditions, and is their most similar bowler to the type England appear to be struggling with. Fitting him in when you also have Starc, Haze, Cummins, Pattinson, and Lyon is another matter...
TEFTONG 60,097
England can bowl. Ireland's bottle crashed. HG5

RangersMedia 35,961
Easy days work for England, but....... Those conditions, played against a relatively weak batting side, bailed them out and papered over some huge cracks!
Creampuff 22,628
England squad for first Ashes Test: Joe Root (c), Moeen Ali, James Anderson, Jofra Archer, Jonny Bairstow, Stuart Broad, Rory Burns, Jos Butler, Sam Curran, Joe Denly, Jason Roy, Ben Stokes, Olly Stone, Chris Woakes. Creampuff 22,628
Rumours that Australia have dropped Mitchell Starc and will play Cummins-Pattinson-Hazlewood-Lyon in the first test.
TEFTONG 60,097
I think it's fair that Woakes starts tomorrow rather than Archer. No need to drop a guy on form with the guy who may not be 100% fit. I'm looking forward to it. How's the weather going to be..?? Just checked and the BBC say dry until Monday. But Google say showers Saturday and Sunday.. Creampuff 22,628
Root moving up to three sounds good in principle (to break up the inexperienced players in the top order), but England will be looking real vulnerable if he goes first ball...
