Interview With Stewart Robertson

The first thing Rangers FC should be asking is "Why are the SPFL looking into the EBT decision after they had already had their own independent commission headed by Lord Nimmo Smith? They should then ask these follow-up questions:

Why did they think it necessary to reopen the issue at all?

Why the urgency?

Who instigated the meeting?

Under the broad terms of the independent commission, LNS was given a wide remit and it was set out that the decision of the commission would not be affected by the outcome of any HMRC appeal.

These are extracts from the Independent Commission:

"Thus it is not the purpose of the Rules to regulate how one football club may seek to gain financial and
sporting advantage over others."
"Mr McKenzie stated expressly that for all purposes of this Commission’s Inquiry and Determination the SPL accepted
that decision as it stood, without regard to any possible appeal by HMRC."
"Given that we have held that Rangers FC did not breach Rule D1.11 by playing ineligible players, it did not secure any direct competitive advantage in that respect."
"We therefore proceed on the basis that the breach of the rules relating to disclosure did not give rise to any sporting advantage, direct or indirect."
In consideration of the above the reopening of this EBT issue by the SPFL appears to be nothing less than a vindictive witch hunt

The board will continue not taking a salary, not even to pay it back at a later date. Good. (tu)

Appears we actually have a board whose intention is to reinvigorate and revitalise our club and brand for the betterment of the club, not their bank balances. Nice change, IMO.

Great listen. Seems like a great addition to the club. As he says Rangers need to be at the top table of Scottish football. Regardless of the treatment we have suffered from the rest of the hate filled clubs. Also have upmost faith that any suggestion of title stripping will be met with great resitance and a proper fight.

Anyone know what he was talking about with regards to "putting banners up at the Copland and Broomloan"? Is he talking about the outside which Man U and the scum have?

Naw see the gaps at the top of the stand, just like 10 ft by 10 ft banners along the top to cover the hole

Good interview.

This guy just loves our Club, and it just bursts out of him as he rhymes off all the positive things that are happening around Ibrox at the moment.

Can't not like him, or think that what he is saying is not true and of benefit to the Club, and his pride in being a part of the turn around is very refreshing.

Still not sure if he is the right "Arrow" to strike down our more vicious detractors though.

Nevertheless he is definitely one of our better appointments to the boardroom.

:uk:
