Just wanted to ask if anyone has approached the club or fan groups because if anything they have a greater ability to reach out to many. The RFF is going to spend lots on a wee stand at the academy which will simply make things more comfortable for the players families and coaches. Its the sort of thing that can wait in comparison to your son. The club could have one of those tick boxes like they do for charity when you buy a ticket except it would be for Joshua's surgery. I know the club probably don't like to get to involved with these things as so many need a help but your son has a unique case. How unfortunate is it these days to have a serious condition that the NHS don't cover. This is one of the most advanced country's in the world so its sad to find there are things this serious were you still need to be rich to get treatment. Sort of thing that makes your blood get warm when you think we let people become billionaires for selling tracksuits yet our NHS can't afford to save our children. Great effort by all the boys on here though. Govan Bear and his helpers are also putting the big charity foundations to shame with their efforts on a much smaller medium. Keep it up lads, you make me feel proud and humble Great post mate ..... you would need to read this thread from the beginning to see the avenues that have been explored by GB and many more (some you have mentioned) to see the fantastic efforts by all concerned with young Joshua's plight. Most avenues are being tapped as we speak, and it takes some doing keeping up with all the good that has and is coming from all concerned in these different projects. None more so than From Mark and his wife, who have been (naturally) unstinting in their far flung attempts to keep the dream alive that Joshua will be made well .... their belief is truly amazing. Perhaps if you have contacts in the Manchester area that may help to unlock some more routes (as the family are from your neck of the woods) that Mark does not have access to. If you have it would be another step closer to America for them all ..... if not then just do what most of us are doing and help with whatever spare Pounds you have .... it all helps mate. dougie76, Bears r us and William McBeath

Yeah mate from what I've seen when on it is amazing how much the lads have came up with and I know lots like the club have helped out with things like the raffle prizes. It was more just me thinking of what I could that would bring in more money. I wish I did have contacts to do a bit of fundraising but I mostly know family, workmates, neighbours, and who my missus knows down here. I only work with a small amount of people too so couldn't even organise a work charity do. I'm was thinking about my daughters school now that you have given me the idea but they would not do it without it being some sort of do and that's usually something they do for a local kid or campaign. I say that because I'm near enough in Blackburn so its a good bit away. I used to go to Manchester Utd's old training centre as part of an old job so knew some of the coaches and met the likes of Darren Fletcher. That would have been ideal if someone like organised a match with a Rangers youth team with a main player like themselves playing in each side. But the main man was a dick so I wouldn't even bother with him now. Was just mentioning it to throw the idea out there because the main thing your post did was make me think what I could do to help. Hopefully people see these posts and find something that can help. I've just been putting a wee bit towards the fund when I get paid and will no doubt continue to do so regularly. I know being a parent how it feels just seeing them in pain, just makes you feel helpless. But here the NHS can't even help, which is supposed to be your lifeline in this country. Its a bit sickening to think that rich people are able to fix their children but not the rest of us. What's our taxes fucking for? Yet we'll spend a billion on something stupid like the millennial dome or Wembley. Anyhow, I better not get started as I'm up too late as it is. It sickens me to guys and I am still fighting with the department of health as to why they will not help but like everything in this country it takes time for them to even answer you back. I said in a previous thread that Joshua's consultant has stepped in to help out with pushing sheffield hospital for an answer as to why they will not help. Once we have an answer the Bbc are going to do a story on why this country can't help Joshua even tho they have the facilities to do so. In the mean time I will continue to keep tweeting and messaging how I can and hope some rich person feels nice enough to help out in even passing his story around or giving some sort of donation. We can just keep trying. I have Manchester evening news coming out today to do another story in the paper and all local papers again to see if we can get another push with the public, let's hope. Amanda has also now got the woman's mag chat publishing the story as we speak so that will go nation wide so there is an other hopeful angle. Once again you are all my family and you are all very much in my debt for all you have done and are still doing thank you all once more and let's hope all our efforts get Joshua to where he needs to be. He is getting so big know and is just beginning to thrive with his walking and his bossiness lol such a little ? lol. dougie76, Courtyard Bear, LochendBilly and 5 others

I can understand slightly as my mum passed away when I was young and would probably have survived in America. It was a rare type of encephalitis but in the US they give you a drug immediately as a precaution. She might still have had some brain damage though but I will never know now. The bit that destroyed me at the time was she practically just lay in the Western for a week with none of them knowing what was wrong with her. They were relying on consultants from the Southern to analyse the scans so she wasn't even in the right hospital. This came down to the postcode factor even in the same city and the fact that the hospital consultants were she was were not specialists. I went and spoke to the consultant a while later and should probably have taken the NHS to court to make sure it didn't happen again because it was an eye opener to the potential for negligence but I just thought what's the point as it won't bring her back and the guys no doubt try their best under difficult circumstances. Much of it was down to money with the drugs costing more but what got me the most was the waited until too late to do the MRI scan which is the only one powerful enough to pick up the evidence for that particular type of the virus. They used an inferior CAT scan during the first few days because of costs and even for that she was transferred to Gartnavel because the Westerns was broke. An absolute cluster fuck and heart breaking at the time and even more so afterwards when piecing it all together. We're very fortunate to have the NHS but I will never just accept people's word for anything now when it comes to health. Too important so keep fighting. Also if you ever need a hand if your doing something locally to raise funds just give me a shout mate as I'm just outside Bury Bobby Hume, Bears r us, LochendBilly and 2 others

Popular Post Big Al 55 9,241
Needed a bump. Quiz night Fri 27th January confirmed Parkfoot Social Club Kilsyth. 5 man teams £10 entry per team. Will get raffle prizes and maybe the odd auctionable item. Everybody is more than welcome. If you'd like to enter a team or attend let me know. Events like this are only successful if people make the effort to attend I'm hoping for a decent turnout between the lodge members and the RSC who leave from the club. Mark do you have the jpegs or png files for Josh? I'd like to create a poster or two for the event and would be good to have the wee mans picture on there. Not too sure about this Mark .... as they can be pretty convincing when putting this type of stuff out there. I tend to steer clear, and I'm wary of these kind of "get rich quick" type of things due to, "if it seems too good to be true .... it probably is". But as people are not being asked for money up front or being asked for personal bank details ..... it may be worth a shot .... but only if your cousin has identifiable proof from someone who has actually received these cheques. I would agree that @mark adair cousin would need confirmation that they are paying out, because it seems a strange story to me, seems too good to be true as you say. To those of us who have seen so many scams and hoaxes before, it's a very obvious hoax. It's been around for years, and actually made the news some years back. But desperation clouds perception. The only people who fall for this, and other more malignant hoaxes and scams, are the people who need for them to be true the most - which is what makes these hoaxes particularly despicable. Sadly, Mark falls in to that category, and will find himself clutching at any and every straw that is offered, even the ones that are obviously too good to be true.
