The RM Erskine Fund is a voluntary fundraising group funded by RM Member donations (and other occasional fundraising activities). The money raised is spent as follows: Providing Rangers FC Products and Services to Residents of 4 Erskine Care Homes (eg: Season Tickets, Match Tickets, Hospitality Tickets, Stadium Tours, Argyle Restaurant Lunches, Rangers TV, Rangers Match Programmes) Providing non-Rangers-related Recreational Treats for the Residents of 4 Erskine Homes (eg: Boat Trips, Restaurant Lunches, Christmas Party Donations, Palace Visits, D-Day Whisky Miniatures) Supporting The Rangers Family - Rangers Development Fund, Rangers Charity Foundation, Rangers Ladies, Rangers Football In The Community. We also support Residents of Hollybush House Hospital (Combat Stress) by providing 4 Season Tickets for their exclusive use, Rangers TV and Rangers Match Programme Subscriptions The Fund has no running costs – (except the 6% PayPal fee charged by PayPal on all donations ). Getting the ball rolling this season will be Erskine Park's Big Wishing Tree Wish - The Waverley Loch Cruise on 28th May. For those of you who don't know what the Erskine Wishing Tree is, here's the deal. In each Erskine Home, every resident "makes a wish" The wishes are written on leaves and stuck on the wishing tree... The Recreation Staff then try to fulfil every one of those wishes. Once a Wish is fulfilled, the staff make a framed collage of the day, and that goes up on the Wishing Wall... But as you can see, there are a lot of Leaves (and a lot more you can't see). Obviously the Recreation Team only have a limited budget to spend on those wishes, so it must be quite a challenge for them. So we try to help out as much as we can, by identifying some wishes that we can help with, and paying for them directly. For the Trips we pay for, we like to make a day of it, so it's not just the particular Veteran who gets the wish fulfilled - we usually pay for a minibus full. Some Wishes we've fulfilled so far are: Steamship Sir Walter Scott - Loch Katrine Boat Trip for 12 Lunch & Drinks for 12 at the Kilted Skirlie Restaurant Lomond Shores Falkirk Wheel Boat Ride for 12 (sponsored in full by some Good Friends of the Fund) Bo'Ness Steam Train Ride for 12 Fish and Chips at Albert's Chippie Going to see The Famous Glasgow Rangers So that's the past. And another 3 were more than happy to come along too, so we've booked 12 places on the Waverley Loch Long Cruise for Friday 27th May...
