The tone and content of the statement are remarkable. Hibs, the SFA, politicians, media persons all pilloried. And rightly so. Justifiably so. It is entirely unacceptable for players and staff to be assaulted on the pitch by a horde of out of control Hibs supporters. It may not be said in express terms but in my view the statement makes it abundantly clear in implied terms that the organisations named and their representatives have no integrity. Not just an absence of sporting integrity but devoid of any integrity whatsoever. No respect has been shown to Rangers or to Rangers' players and staff. None whatsoever. No wonder the Board, the Support and the Club is angry. Having fired a justifiable broadside this is bound to open heated responses. The quicker the SFA agree to an independent investigation the better and the quicker it is set up the better. Actions to prevent such events to be in place before the start of next season. And Regan should resign in order to bring someone in who may be able to regain Rangers' confidence in the competence of the SFA.
