League Cup Results so far

 175px-Rangers.png   logo-stranraerfc-crest.png

Rangers:                               Stranraer:

W/3 L/0 D/0                           W/2 L/0 D/0

Goals For: 7                          Goals For: 5

Goals Against: 0                   Goals Against: 0

(9 Points)                              (6 Points)

and so we've reached the final match of the League cup group stages! We face league 1 team Stranraer. Should hopefully be another clean sheet and training routine for the lads. Simple 2-0 minimum to secure those final 3 points to be at the top of the group! But of course we'll wait and see at a bouncin' Ibrox park on Monday night! If the game against Annan is anything to go by then there will be a healthy 30,000 to cheer the boys in blue!

My Predicted lineup

Wes

(if fit) Tavernier   Kiernan   Hill   Hodson

Kranjcar*        Barton*   Windass

O'halloran    Waghorn     McKay

Subs being

Forrester on for Windass

Dodoo on for Waghorn

Hardie on for McKay

3-0 (McKay, Waghorn, Dodoo)

*Confirmed by the gaffer to be starting

**Last Meeting**

Rangers and Stranraer last met on the 26th of December in the 2013/14 Season at Ibrox. The game would finish a draw, goals being a Penalty for us converted by Lee McCulloch and a 94th minute goal by Jaime Longworth.

The way I write it, it's easy to mess up. And I quickly proof read it. Stranraer have ha 2 goals scored against them.

I'm sure the last time we played them was the "trophy day" of the 13/14 season. 3-0 win iirc, think Peralta scored too :(

The head-to-head thing told me it was the one i've got the now.

I'll make amendments :541:

The only reason I remember that game was because of Arnold scoring. I was down the front of CF5 and he celebrated right in front of us :rip:  I've tried to forget the rest of that season.

So when we win this game, what's the script for the rest of this tournament? Does it go to straight knock-outs and you can draw anybody or are there seedings etc?

The final sixteen is seeding for the four who haven't taken part yet and the best four group winners, The other four group winners and four best runners up will be drawn against the seeded teams..

Straight knock-outs, top 8 and 4 best runner ups are joined by the 4 teams who playing in Europe with elimination games (no replays) so a game in the knock-out phase could go to extra time and penalties.

Warburton said Rossiter will get some game time for this, so will expect him to make an apperance, our team is looking very strong bar the backline but rossiter and barton will majorly help the defence out when playing the tougher games, all they would need to do is drop into the positions of the fullbacks when they push forward, still need another quality centerhalf though.

Has there been any word if Crooks might get a runout v Burnley or is that too early?

Not too sure, I only seen the thing about Rossiter quoted in here so thought it was worthy of a post but I am sure  warburton said crooks will be about 2-3 weeks away, might be wrong!
