What's actually going on at Tottenham? Are they making that big a deal over 2nd?

White Hart Lane no more, so celebrating the end of a 100 year plus era as they are dropping the name to maximise funding on naming rights, even though the new stadium encroaches the footprint of the new one. The current stadium still includes the original brick facade of the main stand and that of course will be gone. The new £800 mil 61,000 capacity stadium on the way and they are looking to secure a 400 mil naming rights deal to help fund it, after having knocked back a 150 mil 6 year deal with Qatar.

Watched the very extensive closing ceremony and it was well orchestrated as they stood with pride and song honouring their legends, something we have very little of these days.

Chelsea's new stadium will be 60,000 capacity,  but Stamford Bridge will remain as part of any stadium naming rights deal.

Certainly provides us with a sense of perspective in this backwater as the rest of the footballing world moves on. Even those unheard of new central asian now European teams on their way up.

Watching Sportscene last night, with teams playing to near empty stadiums. A fucking depressing sight, with commentaries  to match, in not having moved on from the seventies. Our whole product is shite.

Sad fucking days.

The real sad thing is it's just more seats for tourists.

You do know what happened to the dinosaurs?

They way we're going, we won't be having any fans, never mind tourists. This club is virtually unrecognisable in every manner. Run by charlatans lacking in integrity and moral fibre, making us more toxic than nuclear waste. One more season of this shite and we're toast and that's providing we get past the forthcoming SD court action.

Apparently Sol Campbell was fuming he wasn't invited to the closing ceremony :mutley:

Serves the self-obsessed turncoat bastard right.

If Liverpool lose 2-0 at home to Middlesbrough and Arsenal draw 1-1 with Everton on Sunday, there would have to be a playoff for the last CL space.

Always remember there was the possibilty of a playoff the season we won the league on goal difference.
