This part I do think is overstated, evading some lunging tackle is quite a lot simpler, if you are a genius, than dealing with constant pressing and the close attentions of four or five or six opposition players. Messi gets kicked plenty, but more than that, what he almost never gets is the kind of space Pele got when he set up the winner in the 1970 world cup final.

Have you seen the clips of the out and out assaults Pele faced putting him out of the 1966 world cup? It is a fact, there is no overstatement, the tackle from behind, two footed tackles, etc are virtually out of the game compared those days. It took a huge amount to get booked, never mind sent off.

Yep, he was treated like Messi was vs Real Madrid last week (who was also fouled more or less with impunity, until Ramos lost the plot). If it injures you, that's that, but if it doesn't, it doesn't make it harder for you to score than actually being properly marked by intelligent modern defending does. Pele was absolutely nails and threw his elbows like Shearer, forwards got away with a hell of a lot more back then too.

Pele most overrated player :duh: fs

Then when one person says about scoring in friendlies others mention it as if they knew beforehand:lol:

Ronaldo plays In today's game with all the science. Best of food. Plays on a carpet with light boots and a fly away football.

Pele played when you eat what you want. Pitches where a joke. Big heavy leather boots and a big heavy ball

To compare the two is stupid but to say Pele is overrated is moronic

Tbf the pros you described for Ronaldo there, sports science, best of food etc applies to literally every other footballer that's played the game since the 90's and none of them has achieved what he's achieved in the time he's achieved it, personal record wise anyway.
