I assume they've considered whether or not they could sack him without ending up an employment tribunal. Realised they can't so given him another few weeks to fuck up again

Just sitting and hoping he does something that they can sack him for without pay in three weeks sounds pretty daft, doubt that's the case

To be fair, he's been away from the club for a few days now so I'm sure the club would be well aware if we have any grounds to sack him. I'll assume that we don't or we would have sacked him this morning, that leaves us 2 options IMO:

Either try and reach an agreement to cancel his contract if we don't want him around the club

or

Put the matter behind us, tell him to screw the nut and get him back in training.

I really don't understand this 3 week suspension or how it benefits anyone.

Sounds the most likely scenarios.

The next 3 weeks are going to be a nightmare for Warburton. Although we've said in our statement that we won't be commenting further the press will still hound him for answers. It's important he doesn't lose the head again.

Assuming it's not unpaid suspension that's us got our highest paid player (or one of the highest paid anyway) sitting at home twiddling his thumbs not even having to work to try and win a place in the team

Whatever way you look at it that's a complete shambles and a waste and there's no obvious solution to it

He wont be back. And now he wont be off twitter/talksport/sky either. He thinks way to much of himself to keep quiet and walk away. Especially with a book to sell. Fucking hell we are a godsend to him right now.

we've been a godsend to con men and fraudsters, this is nothing new..................just thought of something heh maybe this is plan b, this is the plan MW uses so if we fuck up for the next 4 games he uses bartons suspension as an excuse saying he's been a distraction and now its costing the club.

That's an absolute certainty. It's win/win for the journalists, they'll either get a bit of new information about Barton or they'll force another walkout from Warburton and use that to crucify him by spinning it as the pressure of the job getting to him.

It's probably the manager's decision rather than the boards but either way it leaves more questions than answers.

What good does a 3-week suspension do for anyone? are we that gutless we don't have the balls to make a proper stand if we believe he's over-stepped the mark?

I don't think it will be 3-weeks unpaid, either.

Is it three weeks suspension and then review the position, or is it three weeks and back down to the business of him playing? More speculation. IMHO it is MW who may have taken whatever was said too personally and this is the incompetent board's futile attempt in backing him that over sensitivity.

Even if an incompetent board, it would aleady know (it has been a week now) if Barton could be sacked without compo. so again, IMHO opinion, their action reflects that they cannot, nor have the money to do so if they wanted rid on the other hand. It's now holding pattern on a wing on a prayer and you could also read, Mark you fucked up, you now have three weeks to turn our results around. We have difficult fixtures ahead and lose more than we win, it is he who will be toast as there will be no Barton to scapegoat. Who the fuck knows? Boards are nothing, if not treacherous.

We walk a tight rope for the next three weeks and IMHO, MW's position is now more precarious than Barton's with this decision and if we think the mhedia feeding frenzy has been bad thus far, we aint seen nothing yet.

It's time for Warburton to step up now. This is the life of a Rangers manager and he has to get used to it.

Really don't understand the need in a 3-week suspension. It will be 5 weeks without playing a match. He will be severely lacking in match fitness (if he isn't already) and we will be paying one of our top earners for doing absolutely fucking nothing.

Turning into a very unnecessary saga, either back him or sack him.
