Operation tango

Reading this on Follow Follow. Still get a wee buzz.

Ok, here is what I can share.....
Idea was born of a simple discussion, Helicopter Sunday. The recollection of the noise, the atmosphere, the emotion of what happened as those Motherwell goals were going in. We couldn't begin to imagine the same thing in reverse - to think about them feeling the way we did that day - unimaginable.....or was it ?
Maybe we could create this emotion - with a nice twist - Operation Tango was born.

How do we do it -
We wanted a concentrated 'surprise' effort, so no mass instruction on the open forum.
Original plan was to send 2 texts, 1 on 5 mins and 1 on 15 mins....
Each person involved had to have 2 Timmy matesat the game.

On 5 mins, the 1st person was to be sent the text,
On 15 mins the 2nd person was to be sent the text.

Anyway, to cut a long story short,
Concensus of opinion was that 5 mins was far far too early, people arriving late, people not settled into the game yet. There was also a thought that we may provide a positive effect for Celtic - ie spur them on when we were maybe on the back foot (and we didn't want that).

So with this in mind, we decided, lets do it in such a way as that if it spurns them on - it should make no difference....Rangers had to be in the lead for Tango to kick in.

News will reach the piggery naturally if we scored and went in front (massive massive low on their part), what better than to let them digest this low and let it fester for a little while before we sent our false high.
Decision was to send the texts no matter what to both Timmy1 and Timmy2, 15 mins after Rangers took any lead.

Text in itself was to be short and sweet:
Dundee Utd - Goal! (Weir sent off)

The resultant Timmy rabble we would like to think was down to the series of texts arriving at their destination - It was a bit like Russian Roulette, we all fire the gun, some will simply go click bit hopefully a few go BANG !

We will never know for sure, but if it wasn't us, something got them excited. I think we can live with the thought that it was maybe just us

Believe this was planned.
Taigs fell for it hook line and sinker.
Was discussed on certain buses before both matches.
Do not let 55,000 cunts pretend it didn't happen.
Remind the thick Irish cunts at every opportunity that this "there appears to be some misinformation" really happened to them.
Hartley looks as fat now as he did then.
Why did Craig Thompson not book Hartley. :mutley::uk::D

45 minutes ago, RFCRobertson said:

Such a shame nothing like this will ever realistically happen again.

We said the same thing in the 60s, and the early 80s.

They weren't exactly glorious years.

Plenty of glory followed still.

It was brilliant work from the Bears and added to a brilliant day.  In a similar note, brilliant work from the Dinamo supporters earlier in the year:

Steaua Bucharest officials were left red-faced after a prank organised by supporters of their arch rivals Dinamo Bucharest appeared to sabotage their pre-match display before the Champions League qualifier against Manchester City.

With anticipation high ahead of the visit of Pep Guardiola’s side, Steaua owner Gigi Becali had commissioned a “tifo” at the Arena Nationala in Bucharest to mark 30 years since their victory in the 1986 European Cup final. However, when the huge mosaic was unveiled just before kick off, it was revealed to say “Doar Dinamo Bucuresti” (Only Dinamo Bucharest).

According to reports in Romania, the display had been organised by a group of Dinamo fans who posed as professionals offering to help prepare the display before the match.

The evening went from bad to worse for Steaua, who suffered the heaviest home defeat in their history after a hat-trick from Sergio Agüero set up a 5-0 win.
