Ok its a handicap but it attracts the top stayers all over the world and the whole country tunes into it. The race itself, well you need a horse in good condition and a bit of luck on your side. They can be ten wide turning in so there's always hard luck stories. Hartnell is the favourite and is short enough in my book, Bondi Beach aimed for this and cant be lightly dismissed from the O'Brien yard, Oceanographer carries a quick penalty but is classy and Jameka could be very good. On value though, I've opted for Michael Bell's Big Orange who has plenty of ability, and proven ability at that. Heartbreak City who is trained by staying master AJ Martin and is in great form and the ex-Stoute trained Exospheric which I make a sound each-way punt at 20s.
