KingKirk 25,449
On the road out! JIM STEWART looks set to lose his post as Rangers goalie coach. SunSport told on Saturday how new Ibrox gaffer Pedro Caixinha wants to add three trusted backroom staff. One of those is believed to be keeper coach Jose Belman. Contrary to reports elsewhere the writing now looks on the wall for Stewart, 63. From the sun
MasterD 7,430
Was he not retiring anyway?

Sid2103 285
If Pedro needs his own team behind him to do his job then who are we to argue with him. Sad to see a long standing servant to the club leave, maybe they could find a job for him elsewhere at the club, but I don't think he would go for it. Good luck to Jim wherever he goes. BridgeIsBlue 66,498
So Pedro is now "ruthless" for wanting to bring in his own people to the club? You'd think this is the first time it's ever happened in football with the way they're going on about it
WilliamFyfe 1,438
Big Jim has done brilliant at Rangers. I wish him all the best if he does go!

Well it does I suppose when it's all about the Rangers
HuistraHairDo 12,447
He's not here to train the coach's into his methods. He has his own who know them, he said so in his interview, so it's easier transition for the players. It's a no brainer
ritchieshearercaldow 22,002
At 63 I would think Jim would be quite happy to put on his slippers, that headline makes it out like a hatchet job.
Tom0411 1,226
Jim is a mate of my mate and everytime I have met him he has been a proper gentleman & he couldn't belive he was living his dream. Also has the biggest hands that I have ever had to shake.
K.A.I 36,183
Fair play tbh. I like this style more than being sentimental to the boys in the background. All the best tho Jim. Done some good work through the years with us.
Bobby Hume 12,566
Thought he was worth keeping on for a wee bit longer ... but some were saying he was thinking of retiring ... so not that much of a shock to JS I suppose. He has had great run as both a player and a coach ..... longer than most in the field if truth be known. So good luck with what he does next and thanks for all your service Big man. scottyscott1963 17,921
Fuckin hate the red tops. Make up any old shite about Rangers and pass it off as news. JS will have done alright out of his time at Rangers and thanks for everything you gave.

gmcf 33,859
Sad to see JS go as he's worked with some great keepers down the years , but totally understandable PC wants his own team in place .
Young Bob 1,360
Walter Smith axed Jims predecessor to give him the job so what goes around comes around. He will have been paid handsomely for his services. Hopefully the new coach understands keepers can catch the ball and dont have to punch it every time. GeeSS 512
Time to move on after 10 yr loyal service however his son Colin (husband of Julie Fleeting) is at the club coaching our youth goalies Jim won't be short of offers either I don't think he is quite ready to retire just yet .
