RFCRobertson 11,769
Quote Ross County striker Alex Schalk has accepted a two-game suspension for diving from the Scottish Football Association's compliance officer. The 24-year-old was charged with committing "an act of simulation" to earn his side a penalty in Sunday's 2-2 draw with Celtic. The fixed suspension was two games and Ross County have chosen not to challenge the decision. Schalk will miss the Premiership games against Inverness CT and Motherwell. In August, Hearts' Jamie Walker was also charged with breaching disciplinary rule 201 for diving in a game against Celtic and his appeal against the two-game suspension was dismissed. Schalk's indiscretion came in the 88th minute at Dingwall, with Celtic leading 2-1, and Liam Boyce scored from the spot to earn County a draw. The visitors' captain, Scott Brown, was later dismissed for a foul on Boyce, which Celtic have appealed against. The hearing for that will be held on Thursday 27 April, allowing Brown to take part in Sunday's Old Firm Scottish Cup semi-final. That was an awful fast decision for a dive
Domthenbud 899
Maybe a silly question but how can a decision on Schalk be made but legomuncher cannot be decided for another week.

Have the taigs made an appeal yet or are they waiting till the last minute. Maybe that's what they are doing with the child molesting stuff that the club covered up. Maybe they are waiting till last minute and going to appeal for the coaches to stop doing it before it goes to court

ricksen_da_best 2,034
So they can produce the evidence to convict someone, but not for an appeal..... Has a Celtic player ever been done for diving?
Captain Hilts 12,819
Would be a booking during the game but retrospectively it's a 2 game ban? How does that work? Also the SFA are dirty slimy bastards getting this dealt with so quickly.

No condemnation from the press or players claiming "cheat" but cue moral outrage at the Ross County player and the swift decision by the compliant officer thereafter. So predictable, but still so annoying.

Gaz52 11,837
Quite right, horrible dive. It's the aftermath that's got to me but, the victim mentality in full swing, the anyone but Celtic persona in overdrive. The press and everyone else turning a blind eye to Dembele's umpteen dives this season and making out this only happens against Celtic Horrible fenian bastards the lot of them. ricksen_da_best 2,034
How can only Rangers players and players against Celtic only ever get done for this. Also as pointed out, if he done this in the match he would have been yellow carded. And what's the difference in diving and getting a penalty, and diving and not getting a penalty? Both must be worthy of a 2 game ban.

A dive is cheating no matter how it is accomplished and shud be penalised the same. There might be a case for saying award of a penalty is reward but it then gets complex and messy so I wud punish both the same.

Sparkle 53,504
Hmm, one guy dives, his manager admits it and the player accepts the punishment, no appeal from his club so end of story. Another guy puts in a dirty tackle, receives a red, his manager "doesn't have a problem with the sending off" however his club appeal meanwhile deliberately manipulating the system to ensure the player can play against their biggest rivals. Both players made a mistake but who comes out of it with the most dignity?

ianferguson 2,619
Not had an axe to grind with Brenda untill now, but if he's reading RM I've some advice for him. HD tv's are now cheap as chips and I advise him to invest in one , that way the next time his big striker acts the exact same way as Shalk did he'll not take the moral high ground. Obviously he has different standards of behaviour for his own players as some of Dembeles tumbles have been as blatant as Shalks and his Dundee swan lake was particularly bad and could have contributed to Hartleys sacking. Simply because they appealed and Ross County never. Had they done so then Schalk would have been free this weekend with his appeal being heard next week also. No conspiracy I'm afraid but incompetence abounds.
