You always think that these players must be living the dream. Beautiful woman. Nice cars. Big house. Playing football for a job and more money than you'll ever need but life still gets to you. All the best to him.

Stan Collymore has already latched onto it.

I hope he gets the help he needs and the club rally around him. Mental health shit can affect anyone and this really highlights it. I'm glad he's been sectioned because it was obvious he was going to do something really stupid. All the best to him.

As daft as it probably sounds I actually think places like here can be good therapy for mental health issues (cause them too :p:) I'm in no way saying Lennon should join RM and everything would get better. Just your every day person that struggles, to escape from it all for a while can only be good. It's also sometimes easier talking to strangers about what's getting you down rather than someone how can maybe personally judge you.

Just my tuppence worth

Like fsm? It's obvious all he does is make up shite to be a different person on here. His wee sad RM persona trying to be all edgy and cool. ;)

That's part of the thinking behind counselling; your counsellor has no other personal relationship with you and, in theory, you should feel less likely to be judged by them and thus find it easier to open up. (Most counsellors recommend confiding in close friends you can trust as well, particularly about mental health issues.)

Hope he overcomes whatever his issues are. Shame that it's made the news too, as I doubt that makes it easier to deal with. Hopefully the tabloid hacks give him some space, and the messages of support at least provide some small comfort.

In all seriousness. I hope he goes get the help he needs, people talk about doing stuff to help mental health issues, but it seems to be all talk.

I know up here in Scotland, the mental health support is non-existent and suicide rates in Scotland are shocking because of it. Especially amongst young men.

Often groups don't want to help people who are in a hole with payday loans, gambling etc. And they might be the people that need help the most. My pal ended up hanging himself because the debts he ran up through payday loans etc, he was on all sorts of medication, he was trying to get financial help to pay some debts back with a charity through his work, that prided themselves on helping people with mental health problems, but they told him they weren't helping him because he'd taken out payday loans and was told they couldn't help him, not even with a debt management plan or anything.

He obviously made a lot of his own problems but when he did look for help, he got pills threw at him and turned away from people who claim to be the best in helping with mental health.

Tragic fat loser is obsessed with me mate, he can't stop mentioning me, think he wants a wee sniff of my helmet. But he says he has me on ignore, so not sure how he's reading my posts. Still not posted evidence of those Open Uni credits or that HND yet.

Stan will soon turn it to a debate about himself and his mental issues.  In particular his narcissistic personality disorder.
