PRW. 5,631
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-4488530/Rangers-defender-Clint-Hill-released.html Rangers to release veteran defender Clint Hill as Pedro Caixinha looks to build his own squad at Ibrox Clint Hill has made 31 appearances for the Scottish Premiership club this season The former QPR defender will be released when his contract comes to an end Hill was informed of the decision by Rangers boss Pedro Caixinha on Tuesday The 38-year-old intends to find a new club in order to extend his playing career Rangers defender Clint Hill will be released at the end of the season as manager Pedro Caixinha's plans major changes at Ibrox. Hill, who has made 31 appearances for the Scottish Premiership club this season, was informed by Caixinha of the decision on Tuesday morning and now intends to find a new club to extend his career. The 38-year-old is best known for a six-year stint at QPR in which he helped the club win promotion to the Premier League and has also played for Tranmere, Oldham, Stoke City, Crystal Palace and Nottingham Forest. Though he has been one of Rangers' most consistent performers this season, Caixinha has to let players to go in order to rebuild and close the gap on runaway champions Celtic. The Portuguese coach replaced Mark Warburton in March and Gers legend Mark Hateley said this week: 'It is one of the most important transfer windows in the club's history.' the goal machine 7,791
One of the few positives of the season. All the best, big man. Clearly loved being here.
JamesRFC__ 172
Shame. Would of loved him around another season just for his experience and how consistent he's been. At 38 though I'm not too surprised the gaffers decided to let him go.
Davy Vandenbroucke 26,128
Best of luck Clint. We'll always remember you for this
The Specky Forum Organiser 64,429
Mental decision. All the best, Clint. By far the biggest positive from this season.
Brackley Bluenose 4,479
If he's going then that's a good sign Pedro will be trying to get the dross out the door. He's the only one I'd have kept as one of four CBs. Top bloke
Dazzler 2,428
Liked big Clinto. Wish he had signed years ago.
Davy Vandenbroucke 26,128
I'm hoping the main reason he's being released is that Pedro is bringing Bruno Alves in.

K.A.I 36,183
Shame - it should be Bates, Wilson, Kiernan and Senderos getting released Clint would have been good for another year all the best big man
TheBluebells 6,898
Would've kept him for another year as he's a solid defender and usually settled our defence out.
cushynumber 25,178
As long as we have better coming in - and i would assume thats the case if we are letting him go - then its a pragmatic move

Theulstervolunteer 1,859
Would liked him to have stayed but hopefully it's a sign that pedros going to start from scratch defensively . Senderos and kiernan next to go please ....
FSM 20,892
High earner (in comparative terms) maybe?
Rangers No Other 235
Sooner see Kiernan going if we need to free up wages, frightened to think what contract Warburton might have gifted him No real experience now in the back line, hopefully better players are coming in, Hill was far from the worst, looked to have another year or so in him
Escobar 13,676
Gutted for him. Will always remember that goal against the nappy rippers for as long as I live.

LaudrupsPatrickBoots 13,510
Disappointed with this tbh. Thought he deserved another year. All the best Clint.
eejay the dj 31,964
I see where many are coming from but it's time to move on Our defence simply has to have pace and someone who can command our defence mostly every other week 4 new defenders are a must
folkestoneger 8,084
I think Senderos leaving is so blatantly obvious that nobody even thinks a statement is needed
AljayBoy 2,298
All the best big yin! Dunno if he'd manage another year so I'm taking the positive outlook and believe his wages will be put towards another younger defender who's at least as good.
