Kenny McLean

Recommended Posts

Obviously his name has been mentioned with Rangers, along with many others over these last few weeks. The truth is there is nothing concrete behind this and its a guess by the lazy red top journos, however I do believe he will be one who Pedro is keeping tabs on, and even more so after an excellent performance against us the other night. It took us beyond the 15th minute on Wednesday before we strung together 3 passes (Fact) - and this was largely down to Aberdeen's press mostly carried out by him. He has always played well against us and it's no secret that he is a Rangers man, with his dad a ST holder at Ibrox. I was winding him up during the warm up at Shittodrie and offered him my Rangers scarf and he just smiled (Staunchly).

What's peoples opinion on him as a possible signing? One paper quoted we would need to be realistic with a 7 figure sum, say 1m. Is he worth that? Is it worth our while paying that with only a year left on his current deal? Will it pan out to be the Scott Allan saga part 2? Will Aberdeen be willing to do business with Rangers?

With King saying all ST money will go towards the playing squad would Kenny be a good addition with the below numbers being realistic?

Transfer Fee - £1m

Wage - 8k per week / 3 year deal = 1.2m

Head and shoulders above anyone else in our squad and probably the best player in Scotland outwith the paedos. The fact that he is a bear who is actually a decent footballer should make it a no brainer. The main question is how much are the sheep going to want for him? seeing that we could get him for peanuts in January.
