Update on our long term injuries

Recommended Posts

Just seen the news that Danny Wilson is out for ten weeks. That takes him to around the middle of August or so.

Regardless of any potential exits (and how pish you think they are) etc - can anyone give updates on any other injured current players - Kranjcar? Kiernan? Wallace? Rossiter? Have I missed anyone out?

Will update this first post with any news to save everyone sifting through the lot.

Rossiter and kranjcar are back in training or at least they were last week. Wallace expected to be fit for pre season not sure about keirnan but hopefully he's fit enough for a medical at another club.

I'd get rid of Rossiter. I think he'll just be a disaster with injuries

I hope he can get fit enough to give the lad a chance.

It'd be interesting to find out what has actually been wrong with him all this time. Pedro said something about everything being in balance or words to that affect.

The kid has just turned 20 yrs of age and IF they get to the root of the trouble I am confident he will prove a good buy for us.This "phantom" injury he has reminds me of a young player I once trained who was excellent but always had hamstring and calf injuries and no doctor/specialist could find the root of the problem; In the end a friend of mine suggested he visit a Chiropractor and see what he could do...now in those days Chiropractors were regarded in the medical industry as quacks, but the young guys father took him to the Chiro, who picked up the problem straight away and the lad was eventually cured. To the consternation of everybody the Chiro identified the problem as coming from the top of his spine which was twisted; I'm wondering if something weird like that is the cause of Rossiter having a problem?

I thought it was some kind of spinal problem that was causing him pain?

It sounds as though h it's going to be a imbalance or biomechanical problem with his back or hips.

evenstevens just posted onanother thread that he saw Niko limping at the airport recently.

Heres the post from earlier today

"Saw Niko at airport at 5am last Thursday morning getting (I think) the 6.10 flight to Dubrovnik. He was limping. I was getting the 6am to Malaga. Nothing to do with this thread, just thought I'd mention it."

You would think that with the progress in medical science and scanning machinery these days an injury such as the one affecting Rossiter would be diagnosed reasonably quickly; although there is the possibility they know what it is but don't know the best course of action treating it. I hope for Rossiters' sake (and ours) they find a cure asap.

Even the "experts" struggle when problems stem from the back. One small muscle imbalance can affect posture and lead to all sorts of problems.

Very young and plenty time to get over his injuries and have a successful career.

His injury list seems extensive but if it is a back problem then there is the possibilty that has been the issue along along.

It's a long time to be out the game and he will be rusty when he gets back, just hope the fans will be patient with him and let him get on with finding his feet again.

I know all about it mate!, Back in those days when I played there was virtually nothing known about the effects of spinal damage that then affected other parts of the body. Getting scudded from a 15 stone hammer thrower of a defender coming right through the back of you didn't help matters; but by fuck I'm certainly paying for it now.

Totally agree with your comments, mate! This kid can play and is gallus as fuck from what I've seen of him, although watching on telly sometimes can be deceiving, but I think he's worth persevering with.

Well having seen him play he does look like the type of player who likes to get stuck in and involved in the game.

His interviews give the impression that he is hyper as fuck and if channelled in the correct way that can be a great attribute to have playing in the teams engine room.

If he gets back into the first team and stays there i would like to hear something from the club to explain what the issue was etc.

That won't bother big Rob. He only does half a medical, then goes, awol, like when he headed up to us. Hopefully this time he manages the full stint and passes.

Part of that is because the spine is one of the last areas they look at for these issues, and spinal pain can affect just about every part of your body. And that's without getting into whether the cause of the pain is muscle related or arthritic etc; they don't begin to look for the latter until they suspect that's an issue. (Not suggesting that's the case with Rossiter, but arthritis was behind Andreas Laudrup's promising career coming to a halt when he moved to Saint-Étienne, and why he ultimately retired at 24.)
