Just watched train spotting 2, and I have to say I am abhored by the light that rangers supporters have been represented in this film. It wouldnt have been so bad if they have used the media to highlight relevant topics "Big Jock Knew" etc but they chose to highlight things we are trying to get past

Why was this even possible to happen?

Why was a celtic supporters club not chosen to represent such hatred in main stream media?

I understand that a lot of you on here have some extreme views, but myself I would like to know how a main stream film is allowed to portray rangers supporters in such a bad light without any recourse.

This is one thing I would like to see the board react to as it is in main stream consumption. (I know I say main stream a lot but that is what it is)

P.S.

I expect all the responses of you are a taig, you dont know anything, I was in the army I'll call you out etc. Just because I dont post a lot does not mean I dont love our team any less.

If the shoe was on the left foot so to speak, cfc would have responded and requested that this segment of the film be removed, we are so far behind in terms of media manipulation that we will be available for ridicule until such a time as we employ media savvy individuals.

"media manipulation" for those of you that want to w4nk over that phrase.

One of the few bits that brought a smile to my face and proves why certain parts of our support are wrong to try and build bridges.

Fuck them all and if you think the coverage of us is bad just now wait till we win a few games at the start of next season, the cunts will try everything to put us off

Why u trying to be a dick to ur fellow Rangers fans?? Why the add on about media manipulation when we know what ur talking about. 1 more question why u on here moaning about it? I'm quite sure u could contact Welsh or someone close to him through social media and put a complaint in instead of bitching on here

As far as I'm aware, it was part of one Irvine Welshs' books (porno?) So not necessarily new, though completely relevant. When I first seen it I was the same, it portrayed us in a bad light. I didn't imagine taigs getting wound up, I imagined them being delighted with it as it reinforces their agenda. I was a bit surprised to come on here at the the time and see so many thinking it was light hearted and that it could wind up the scum. Not saying it wasn't funny, I enjoyed the film overall, but the undertones was the same as any of the other forms of media and people trying to smear and dehumanise us.

I think you'll find irvine welsh has been less than complimentry of our team in his books long before the film was planned.

Tin hat on here but part of the problems we have, is that we are not talking to the media. I have friends in the media circle of Scottish football (technical workers, not journalists) , and the opinion of Rangers has got worse since banning BBC and falling out with Record. They seem to have an opinion now that we are a total mess , and have failed to engage with them at all so it is fair game to them to pan us at every opportunity. The fallout has got so bad, that nobody is willing to back down.

What does gay sound like exactly?   Is it a bad sound?
