lee McCulloch has been appointed as the new manager of Kilmarnock, the club confirmed on Monday.

The 39-year-old has been acting as interim manager since February after Lee Clark left the club to take charge at Bury, leading the team to an eighth-placed finish in the Scottish Premiership.

The former Scotland international retired from playing in 2016, having ended his career with Killie as a player/coach and taken on an initial caretaker position in January 2016.

Following his appointment, McCulloch stated: "I am thrilled to be taking on the role of manager at Kilmarnock.

"I have gained invaluable experience at the club, both as assistant manager and interim manager, and believe I am ready to take on the challenges of a Premiership manager.

Good luck to Jig, I hope he's a great success.

Maybe we can loan Killie a few players next season? Help out an ex player by loaning him all our shit.

Kiernan would fit easily into their defence. Boyd, and Waghorn, up front? That's a killer front line.

He will be away to Sunderland was reading he had handed in his resignation at AberGreen.

Compensation is a nightmare , way to go with that yet.

Wish the Best of luck to Lee, as others have said did ok when he was put in charge . More than earned it .

From what i hear about Killie, from someone whos boy plays for them, they were a bit of a shambles under Lee Clark.

They signed a load of English league cast offs and kept their good homegrown players in the dark.

Hopefully big Lee can treat them better and nurture them into good solid pros, he made a good career for himself despite lacking in much natural ability.

Best of luck to him.

Kilmarnock generally have a well run academy, and it's a shame they've turned their back on it recently.

If we have any deadwood left after summer, i'd happily loan them to Kilmarnock. People like Forrester or Crooks who may be difficult to push, would probably be strong assets for them

They have at least 2 players out with Scotkand and the Touloun tournament, the boy Taylor got good reviews last  season.

Both him and Frizzell were released by Rangers though so i don't think Killie can take all the credit.
