Captain Hilts 12,819
The incident in the Portugal game there was the first I've seen of it. Looks a farce.

Inigo 32,526
I don't see why you wouldn't use it. Has worked pretty well for the most part whenever I've seen it. Doesn't help its case when the commentators talk utter drivel about it.
Jelavic191 4,398
Would be better if you could see or hear what they were looking at but if it means you get the correct decision then its a good idea.
jintybear 8,536
I wish it was like the NFL and the referee actually told the crowd what he was looking at. Also to allow everyone to go to the centre circle then consult the video folk seemed a bit farcical. It could prove to be brilliant but if we get any goals chopped off then I'll be raging!! NixonRFC 1,309
early days yet but think it'll eventually be replayed on screens, I'm in favour of it, don't like the idea of them fucking about with the rules of the game itself but anything that can see more correct decisions being made the better
andy500 463
It's good - but the TV coverage of it was poor. We need to know what they are looking at and see the replays they are seeing. Transparency is key. That's how it works in other sports.
CoopsLaud 4,184
Long overdue positive modern addition to the game. More it is used the better it will get
bluedylan 11,555
It will be called Virtual Anti Republican when a decision goes against the green and grey
Blueshoff 11,750
Much prefer MAR. Masonic Assistant Referees. Can't beat the old traditions ?
ForeverAndEver 71,364
The offside one just there was wrong , well, in my opinion. Varane shouldn't have been sent off either.
ianferguson 2,619
Great idea in theory but so far in practice it's been a farce. Biggest problem for me is that when a goal is scored you can't guarantee it's a goal for around a minute which means our Clint Hill goal wouldn't have been so euphoric. Waggy1872 427
Whole process takes too long, kills the game a bit
Jimfanciesthedude 24,494
Shite like this annoys me as its impossible to have it in all levels of football, why should high paid wankers get decisions more correct than part timers in lower leagues, theres no way this is possible to be used in lower leagues, juniors etc
big blue Fin 3,724
Works in the NFL and Rugby it's long overdue in footbal.
Graham 3,456
This is a lot of shite. Completely ruins the flow of the game and celebrating goals.

Creampuff 22,628
In cricket you can hear the third umpire talk through the replays as he watches them - the same replays are shown on TV - and the commentators don't say anything. Much better idea.
scottyc06 6,915
So the three comparisons are rugby, NFL & cricket! All are sports that have a fair amount of breaks anyway so the impact isn't as bad! Football flows & this, for me, would ruin that! Celebrations cut short, to see it's going to the video ref & then you get the goal anyway but the moments gone! I really wish they would just leave football as it is, all this pish about reducing the game to an hour with the clock stopping every time it goes out, hand ball on the lines being punished by a goal instead of a penalty, not being able to shoot at a rebound from a penalty, being able to fake free kicks to yourself & whatever other stupid rules they want to bring in! Lot of shite! I don't know how I would describe it, it's like rules you would put in place for kids training or something! Trying to get the fairness in but sucking the identity out of the sport! Inigo 32,526
I take it back. To say this needs ironing out is an understatement. Will be good eventually, I think, but a bit all over the place at the moment.
