Am I the only one who had to Google this guy to know who he was???

No but I recognise the names of some of his clubs. He has previous experience of doing something different by buying a hotel in Craigellachie.

It mentions in an article that his dad was Scottish - anyone know if he had any connection to us?

Was at that hotel last week.  Copper Dog is the restaurant/bar.  Upstairs is the best whisky bar in the country.
