Waghorn scored 10 penalties last season. He actually took 11 but missed one.
Cam1872 251
Waghorn is a bit stuck, not good enough to start. Can't be relied on as an impact sub - as if he gets a chance hes likely to miss which isnt a great impact. Think its harsh to say fuck off to anyone who works hard,  for not being good enough. Criticism aside though, he isn't good enough. His worst trait for me is that he thinks of himself as a 30 goal a season striker, I would like to see what he was about if he was told to focus on assisting and only shoot if the goalie is tying his laces.
We Will Follow Rangers 12,892
Thing is a striker has to be in a position to miss, thats the hard part, shootings probably 50/50 between technique and good fortune. I still think that if he tucks away a few chances the goals will start to come for him.

dan_ger 1,454
I wish him all the best, he seems like a thoroughly decent guy. Would love to see him smash in 20 goals for us this season. He really struggled last year. You would think he had the strength to get chances in Scottish football. Just needs to find his finishing touch again.
Reformation Bear 6,453
A lot to prove. Â The thing is though he had more than a fair share of opportunity to stake a claim last season...........and despite his haul of penalties he failed big time to do so. Seems to me there would have to be the most significant failure by Hererra and Morelos and (when he gets a game) Miller for the manager to be turning to Waghorn to rescue a lack of goals being scored by strikers. Â In my view if that was happening it would be just about the strongest indicator possible that the team .....and the Manager ......had ended up in deep deep trouble. Â Â The horses have long since left the barn as far as opportunities for Waghorn to prove his worth for first team selection are concerned. Â Â He looks to be having to be content to be grazing at the fringes until he can find another club. Â Â Should give him plenty of time for packing in some fast food. duffy2391 574
His finishing has been utter gash but I've seen him make some smart one touch passes just outside the box. If we can't get shot of him then he would at least come in handy for the sake of squad rotation.

onefootwillie 1,518
He will struggle I just don't think he is up to this level. He also is bad at passing to other players in better positions. I would love him to do well but it won't happen.
Smell the hotdog 4,015
We're winning no league or cup with a team that contains Martyn Waghorn. Thats a fuckin certainty, needs moved on and the fact we're still stuck with him tells its own story.
orangecountry 148
I think he's being harsh on himself he has nothing to prove. He's proved all he can be and sadly that's notgood enough.
Thewhitesettler 2,711
I would be delighted if Waghorn could score 20+ goals this season, however I doubt very much he will He appears to need the ball to come naturally onto his left foot, to take a shot at goal. He's too left footed for my liking. We need more right footers in our team, it's traditional.???

With Heart and Hand 8,949
Talk is cheap, he's been here nearly 2 years and should have already proven himself. Should never play for us again Fuck off martyn
Jack The Flipper 5,936
the biggest thing he has to prove is if he's actually able to be a striker at any decent level from what we've seen he's sub-Scottish premiership that's embarrassing enough
BluebearDory 3,694
The number of times I shouted abuse at the telly last season when he missed sitters is unreal. Decent reliable finisher needed.
