Is Scottish Football heading For Oblivion

It's quite simple, celltic want to destroy all means of competition and obliterate us out of existence - by any means possible including spurious legal fights. They want to be able to build a case to the EPL that they have no competition in their home league, so that it would benefit their case by bypassing the SFA and straight to the FA. This has been as clear as day to me since 14/2/2012. It all goes back to Lawells statement about not needing Rangers.

Of course, the EPL or whatever superdooper European League wouldn't consider it at the moment, certainly not without Rangers. So the agenda is to drive us out of existence so they can plead a special case.

They are keeping their power dry at the moment, but just watch what happens if they win the next 2 titles.

Every UEFA member (bar one) has CL access and it's not likely to be removed anytime soon otherwise UEFA will see most of their member nations withdraw completely.

You serious? They started talk last year of closing the CL to only the top nations and it was gathering pace, it's just a matter of time.

Do you mean the breakaway competition UEFA's president described as leagues trying to "blackmail" UEFA?

Ceferin has said as recently as a few months ago that there will be no closed shop competition for Europe's big clubs.

That was his predecessor. The current guy was only appointed last September.

point still stands. EUFA bowed to pressure from the big clubs to add more places from their leagues - then when they did, UEFA tried to turn it into some kind of victory for them. Its a closed shop in all but name and will only get worse.

And, to the original point, they never withdrew anyone's access to the CL despite them not being competitive.

no your right they havent - they still dangle the carrot and leave big teams in small countries hanging by a financial thread, always hoping for the pot of gold that is the group stages. Its a disgraceful situation

First.. proper amount of respect is due to @thedude

Spot on.  Was this ever printed?  Probably not since it makes sense... states the obvious... which of course Rangers haters will always ignore.

Scottish football is already done.  It died +20 years ago imho when SKY broke the bank.  FFP is against us too.  How the fuck is it fair play when PSG can spend £199 on Neymar?  (Well considering to spend...)

But back to the article.  It shows the environment we are in if, an article based on truth may not be published because it is the truth...

All we can do is carry on... WATP and GSTQ

He's absolutely correct. Scotland in the early years of the 21st century is filled with people who hate Britain, Rangers, Unionism, Loyalism and anything even remotely related to them.

Our wee country's in the keech up to our knees, the trouble is we fell in head first.

I read this on EBTS on FF from a poster called Govan Front.  Good Read.

During the period EBTs were prominent amongst countless football clubs across the UK including Rangers, we won league titles in 2002-03, 2004-05, 2008-09 and 2009-10

During 2002-03 our annual salary was 31.83m with £6.79m of that made up of EBTS. At that time Celtic's wage bill was £33.08m

During 2004-05 Our Annual Salary was £25m with £7.24m made up of EBTS. Celtics wage bill now up to £37.39m

By 2008-09 Annual Salary had risen to £27.27m with £2.36m of that EBT funded, 8.6% of our overall salary. Celtics wage you ask £38.75m

And finally 2009-10 where our wage bill was down to £25.03m now only £1.36m of that made up of EBTs a paltry 5.4% of our entire wage bill. Celtics wage bill at that time £36.48m

The lengthy legal fights that came from EBTS and the temporary collapse of the Murray Group were a major factor in Celtic winning 12 of the last 17 titles in Scotland's top league however just as important was their ability to outspend us by over £200m during those 17 years

We now know that during the EBT years Celtics Board members, managers, coaches and players were involved in Film Tax schemes and that Craig Bellamy was set up into his schemes a matter of weeks into his short term contract with Celtic.

Their majority shareholder Mr Dermot Desmond identified most recently in the Panama papers re his tax affairs, also the part owner of a bank accused of money laundering following an FBI probe and who can forget his rogue betting company 'Betdaq' or his substandard 'Nursing care properties' who were exposed most recently in a Panorama documentary. So how much of his 'hard-earned cash' was ploughed into Celtic over the years?

Then there's a small case of the £33.2m in loans and overdraft facility that were provided to Celtic, by the then controversial COOP bank, at rock bottom interest rates that were unavailable to fellow Scottish football clubs. Bit of an advantage there is that not?

I could go on and list suspect Land deals, conflict of interests whereby members of the Celtic board were discussing the future of a rival club, invented tours of Japan which caused Rangers to play 4 games in a week costing us a league title or even the exploitation of former players deaths which led to cancelling one Old firm but not another as it didn't quite suit

Rangers were fined by authorities over our use of EBTS and were subsequently demoted to Division 3 with a illegal Transfer ban put in place to hinder us further. We became a club of ridicule and had a number of suspect characters come through the door stripping us to the bare bones

We have not gained one single advantage in 17 years over Celtic Football club and for their fans and club officials to genuinely believe they have been hard done by, not only that but to crave further sanctions only goes to prove how desperate they are not to see us restored to our former glory. Here's hoping those days are just around the corner!
