Wee Barrie has hit the winner on his debut.

Did we get any kind of sell-on clause for if he does do well?

He was looking good in their pre-season apparently.

He always had the talent, he just didn't show it enough for us.

He was getting there to showing us that more and more, that period before and around the New Year he was by a mile our best player. We should have done all we could to have kept him; if we didn't do that then it was a huge mistake.

Time will tell I guess. Won't be the first one that got away or the first one that faded into obscurity either.

He'll become a good championship player. The difference is the pressure. His goal tonight was a hit and it came off. He tries that at Ibrox and hits the back of the stand his confidence gets shot after a few groans from around the stadium. He'll never have the mental strength to play for a big club but on his day he has all the ability in the world.

Or the fact he didn't want to sign a new contract so the manager got in another winger to replace a player who wanted to leave.

Barrie wanted to stay at Ibrox but Rangers didn't think he was worthy of being one of the top earners at the club. Time will tell who was right but at the moment Dalcio looks like a step in the wrong direction for we needed better than Barrie to chase the tims and so far he's not been exactly  convincing.

There's a player in there who will thrive in an environment with minimal expectation and pressure.

Add to that, English football isn't full of kick-and-rush merchants; he'll have more time on the ball and it'll be to his advantage.

I wish him well. I don't know what happened behind the scenes, but forcing McKay to train with the under-20s - along with Kiernan & Forrester - seemed harsh. If they stepped out of line, absolutely. However, there are parties just as guilty as under-performing last season who remain in the first team set-up.
