Bellshill_Bear 1,105
Good to see the academy coming on leaps and bounds. Definately think in 5 years time we will be reaping the rewards. A good european side making money from youngsters.

Hopefully the European experience of playing more competitive matches will help our youngsters develop quicker. thnx again for posting
Jonathan1872 29
its not unrealistic to have 18 years old in your team if they are good enough, hopefully in a year or two we get a player or two out the academy. I don't want to draw comparisons to them but we need to be producing much more youth who can walk in and compete for places.
MrMckee 3,420
Some great work being done at the academy on all levels by the looks of it. Well done and will definitely see some rewards in the next few years!
Dickie1963 2,352
Winning Development and Youth games is great but ultimately it comes down to how good the best 2 or 3 players are. In any team age group if we have 2/3 who we think can make first team we are doing well. We could have an age group that wins most games where the team is strong but has no exceptional players. Courtyard Bear 41,357
Don't think we ever had a problem developing purely football talent, but we need to make them ready to wear that jersey in front of 50k. That in the past has been the problem, fingers crossed we can fix that.

You can have all the positive stories you want about the academy set up but until you start having players starting for the 1st team in numbers it means nothing. Davie Mr Magic Cooper 515
Cheers Elf. Things do seem to be promising with the younger lads. Hopefully one or two will be good enough to break into the first team when ready and that this becomes more common practice in years to come. TopCat 4,511
Queens Park are respected at youth level and often get great results against SPL clubs so this is a very encouraging win and scoreline. Well done to all concerned.
