geneva_ger 9,242
John and Candeias wide in a midfield 5. Holt (Pena) Dorrans and Jack. Maybe stick Hodson in at LB. Buffalo alone up front with support from any of the mid 3. I say Holt only because he knows how to get in among them defensively. Alnwick Tav Cardoso Bruno Hodson Daniel Jack Dorrans Holt John Buffalo

If he gambles and comes in at the back post at key times he's on a hat trick. Well, if he could finish from 6 yards he would be. He's too slow in thought to see where the chance lies and is very much a ball into his feet to get him moving player.

As you say, How many times do we concede a goal from the right tapped in at back post. Last night Tav and Morales linked up, slid the ball across 6 yard line and Windass is 22 yards from goal. And John down other side, numerous times he broke free yet no one to slide ball across to. So frustrating.
SeparateEntityMyArse 53,254
We cant dominate a thistle midfield when they go 3511. Twice. Two draws over 90 mins. Hivs came back into it, beaton fucked, hivs got success from 3 at the back against us. The bheasts often play 352 and will again on Saturday. 442 or 4411 on Saturday and we will lose the midfield. Last night we should have went 3 at the back.

So frustrating. Yup. There's little instinctive about our overall play or from individuals. No gambles on the ball coming across. Little instinctive interaction it tends to be to a standing man. Yeah very frustrating.

Especially with Pena having an impact. He fucked the chance, we drew, the tactic was shite. Fine margins It was a shocker , I know, but he made the chance himself by hassling their defender and forcing the mistake. That for me is important. In the past we have been sitting off defencesand letting them move into our half.

King Jela 20,016
4-4-2 is outdated pish. It can work against certain teams when you need to rotate/give fringe players game time but other than that it's rank. If we go 4-4-2 on Saturday with our midfield 2 against their 3 we'll get pumped, we got ran over in midfield against Partick Thistle never mind the bead rattling, sewer rats. The Specky Forum Organiser 63,953
It's mental playing the same system for every game. 4-4-2 against the dross but 3-5-2/4-3-3 in tougher games is the way to do it.
