If we want to be accurate regards to detail re. facts/timing then it has to be said that this refers to how the DR generally reported on at least a good part of the 'spiv robbing bastard years'.

In effect, they were used as a conduit to get anti-spiv stories out there in an effort to balance Toxic Jack/MH work to the contrary. It's fair to say that some of the louder voices on here at the time, were pro-spiv and hated the DR for their direction at that time.

The DR was prepared to do so mainly for commercial reasons for the newspaper and personal ambition re. Jackson.

Time moves on, circumstances change and the relationship/attitudes will develop in new directions. Since then, mainly in a negative way.

He cant un-suck that particular cock.No level of excuse will cover it.

No, most of us hated the Record already because of the shite they've been printing about us for a decade.

Their reporting on the spivs wasn't about helping get rid of them, it was to point out how blatantly we were getting arse fucked and having a good laugh at us over it.

A lot longer than a decade! Try since the mid 1990's and you would be almost spot on !

Nah not buying that because at the same time the news paper had a concerted campaign against Loyalists/unionists within the Rangers context around that same time they had front pagers blaming Rangers fans for violence at George Square after the referendum result, employed Jonny McFarlane to print numerous articles the same as official Rangers blogger and also that stupid wee cow that got assaulted at orange walk who was in a gang fight and had no business at the green gave her taig family from Govan front pagers trying to get walk stopped

nothing courageous about the bastards and anyone from Rangers saying so should have kicked down the marble staircase it's always been a scum paper even then - their coverage on the Rats was because it was a massive story no more no less

Paul Murray said those words in March 2015 and the context was clearly refering to the 'spiv robbing bastards (4) years'.

He had been very involved in the struggle against those robbing bastards that some of the usual and loud suspects on here were supporting, being fooled on several different occasions. It was a long and emotive struggle and many of those who had been repeatedly fooled aren't really in a position to credibly keep slating PM about his choice of adjective two and a half years ago.

IMO, the use of "courageous" was inaccurate, when it was really down to commercial gain and personal career ambition but it was a time of real emotion and generosity of description for what had been an important role was afforded. To keep using this is as a slight has become way outdated.

The messageboard attitude to media policy tends to be very radical and based in an alternative reality.

At the sametime, I don't think the club do enough or probably more that they have lost control of the situation. For me, Traynor has been a very poor appointment and we'll only lurch from one fight to another but without landing any metaphorical blows.

Well you admit the use of the term courageous was inaccurate so we agree then. I know he said the words in 2015 but that's my point as it was only months previously the Record were going to town with the examples I gave. He should have tore the Record a new one, but, for so many of them it's about self-gain only.

Just watched sport scene for the first time in about ten years, what a bastard that Stephen Thomson is, never has a good word to say about us, heard him a couple of times on the radio with his pathetic feminine voice, and runs us down at every turn. An ex player as well

There is nothing impartial about the mhedia in this country when it comes to Rangers.

Television with bbc Scotland is very much against us with their "flagship" sportscene concentrating on how poor Pena played and how he should have been red carded twice, on radio again bbc are very bias with radio clyde just as bad and the print mhedia are all infested with so called journalists who heap praise on any team except ours.

Fairness and impartiality are a thing of the past.
