Arsenal 2 Rangers 2 ( Baxter,Brand)

Found a wee report on it in Evening Times archives. Jim Baxter scored in 45 seconds then at 2-0 up he gifted Arsenal a goal before they came back to 2-2. Absence of Wee Willie Henderson puzzled me, report said he was ill and Davy Wilson was complaining of same bug.

Guess Craig Watson took his place. Was a strong team that night!

not in 1954

?

Times have really changed now right enough mate .... it wasn't that long ago when a ton of supporters who were willing to give their individual building skills for free to help renovate Ibrox were turned down for health and safety reasons ... not even allowed to wield a paint brush.

From one end of the scale to the other.

Any insight on this? More recent and not genuine?

20181016_19553936.jpg

Evening Citizen  front page  April 19th 1961 on the day of Rangers V Wolves  European Cup Winners Cup semi final 1st leg

The headline ‘Guardians of Ibrox’ was emblazoned above a montage of pictures of the expected Rangers line-up that had been superimposed over the stadium’s famous iron gates. Injuries to key players like Jimmy Millar, Ian McMillan and Max Murray had hampered Scot Symon’s team selection and he was forced into naming an experimental front line, featuring Doug Baillie at centre forward instead of his usual position of centre half.

And the rest as they say ' Is history'
