buster. 1,114
Sadly typical of the club not to get the best out of the player or transfer value for him. McKay has real quality. Fair play to Warburton for giving him the stage to show what he's capable of.

Some on here idolise the prick , he's shite and has always been shite apart from the one game in ten he does a shift. Few attacking players in a Warburton team have full games, you surely can't have forgotten that? He may have been shite in your eyes but we still should have got more for him. plumbGER 24,518
No. But tbh i would have kept Matt McKay if it meant not having to endure Windass.

City_of_Blue 565
If we want to move forwards then it was the right move selling this non committed wee weasel. I refuse to get all misty eyed over McKay. Frustrated the life out of me. Onwards and upwards

I'm not sure I quite understand the relevance of that to his starts at Forest or the amount of money we got for him. Crack on though.
Smile 26,600
We should have got more money for him, he had good and bad games but had genuine talent that we have lost out now for 500k.
Getstiffed 8,863
Got an even simpler question that's not even a question really... If Mckay stayed that would have meant going against them with him and Hodson on the left.
Chineseboy 1,563
No. He was our best player by far. He is destined for bigger and better things, and fully expect him to be playing for a premiership team soon. The only player at Ibrox who gave you excitement when he got the ball. Utterly amazes me how many of us failed to see how good the guy was.
JC10 1,449
Right to sell him? Yes. Did sell him for enough cash? No.

He glided past players with an ease you don't often see. I think he'd be more successful in Spain. ------------ As an aside, John Fleck has in the end developed well and is very highly rated by Sheffield Utd. fans, now operating at the top of the Championship. IanFerguson2013 396
when we were in the lower leagues he was a breath of fresh air when he came on as a sub. The entertainment value went up when he played. I'm sad to see him go.
Tiger Shaw 30,342
Letting him go without first bringing in a proper replacement was a bit silly, McKay was shite most games and a bit of a knob tbh but still offered more than Windass has done down the left. Probably would have been more consistent in a better team. On his day he could be a handful for any defence, just a shame he only had his day two or three times a season. Fuck him, he's gone now and It is what it is, I'm not sure his heart was ever in it for us.

Both players proved beyond all doubt last season that they lack the quality and ability to play for Rangers.

ritchieshearercaldow 22,123
Do players agents not get a cut of the transfer fee ? Why would an agent let him sign for less if he could have got more ? Sounds like a taig on the wind up.
Brian Fantana 28,894
right or wrong the fucking appaling thing for me is that we sold to a club whose manager has an open court case with us. Well done to the board once again, just shows that their desparation to cover the deficit has no limits.
