Just reading on the BBC website what Murtys been saying today, praising the players attitudes etc. However one thing that makes me angry is that the players are now getting a day off during the week to recharge and spend time with the family. Surely given where we are and where we need to be, the players should be in every day working hard etc. This is just going back to the holiday camp era under super Ally and a regressive step. Let's face it all they will do on the day off is drink or recover from getting blootered the night below.

 most professionals don’t spend their day off getting blootered! And recovery is as important in training as training - this is not a bad thing!

There's a legal issue here. All employees must get the statutory minimum of 28 leave days so we have to fit these in, somehow. Our early return in the summer scuppered some of that so the club has to take opportunities as they present themselves.

Its not a holiday camp mentality its an adhering to statute.

Well if a plumber came into your house you wouldn’t start to tell him how to do his job - unless you were a plumber yourself.

So your criticising Murty (who has won his last 2 games ) for creating a day off (which is very normal btw) during midweek.

What credentials do you have to question him?

Happens a lot, trust me.

You realise you're on a football forum? Where people post opinions on football despite only being fans? That's like saying nobody on here should have criticised Pedro because they don't have the credentials to do so!

Totally agree that his point is utterly ridiculous to complain at Murty for bringing in something that is standard across football in the UK, but he doesn't need to have 'credentials' to voice his opinion on it. :duh:

Think you're moaning for the sake of moaning mate!! Unless the international break has got to you & this is some mad fishing trip!!

Couple of solid performances clearly shows that a Wednesday off isn't having an adverse effect on the team, if anything its probably working better. They were training all week & still struggling in the second half under Pedro. Give me 4 days of quality training over 5 days every time!

He’s not opining - he’s questioning/criticising Murty

Disgraceful really, they should be living at auchinhowie and if they have any unneccesary distractions like wives or (god forbid) kids then they should be allowed one 45 minute meeting with them once a week provided they win at the weekend, bloody primadonas these days.

Fuck me they go in and do a couple of hours training then a wee kick about, every days a day off to them, should try doing some real graft.

I love these archaic posts.

Theres absolutely no chance that anyone on here has a harder, more intense job than a professional athlete. None.

What's so hard about training?  What's hard about having professional nutritionist preparing meals, diet plans and personal trailers?

try grafting for 40 plus hours a week for fuck all money, no spare time to do anything of note because your either working or sleeping. trying to fit in a hour a night to keep on top of your fitness.

These cunts get paid insane money for doing something most of us would love the time to do. It's literally the best job in the world

You work through the week you get weekend off. You work weekends you get days off through the week. There's more to life than work even as a professional footballer. A little bit of downtime can't be that bad?

the players have every afternoon off during the week to do whatever they want.i am not in agreement with this policy,

murty is just ingratiating himself with the players with this day off crap
