when was your first trip to Ibrox?

Recommended Posts

Game was against Kilmarnock and we won, can't remember the score.

I do remember the incredible feeling I got the first time I climbed the stairs and saw the pitch for the first time.

A feeling I still get every time I head to my seat for the game.

Earliest game my dad took me to as a young lad was the 4-0 win against hibs in the league 1973. I don't remember that much about the game except for the excitement at the goals and dad being very happy that night at winning against the scum as he liked to call them.

:UK:

For me, it was Rangers vs Liverpool, August 2008. we got beat 4-0, Torres, Alonso, N'gog and I can't remember the other scorer, maybe Benayoun? I was 14 at the time. Missed 2 of the goals going for a pie and bovril haha.

Feel free to post your first experience and some memories of it.

WATP

Surprised you came back, was at that game myself we got tore to shreds that day.

Remember the Liverpool fans had a banner with 'thank you Rangers for your attempts to destroy Manchester' or words to that effect.

I think it was a 2-0 win over Falkirk on 4th November 1995 as it was the day before my birthday.

My dad used to take me to reserve games at Ibrox to get me used to sitting for that long.

15th October 94. Beat Kilmarnock 2-0. Charlie Miller and Davie Robertson scored iirc. Sat in BR1 and can remember being absolutely blown away by the noise when the teams came out.

We won that one two nil, Roberts and Durrant got sent off,Albert Craig took a dive in front of the Copland, allegedly flashed a tarriers top under strip, Durrant took him out ten minutes later,Waddel got coined to fuck from the enclosure and that's how we ended up getting that retractable tunnel

Mine was the early 70s. Pretty sure it was 71? And we drew with Ayr Utd. My fondest memory was the excitement building up to the game and travelling on the bus with my Dad and his big mate Wullie Stewart.

Viktoria Zhiskov (sp) in the uefa cup 2002, I was 6. First season I had an ST.

Think we drew and got put out, McCann missed a header from like 3 yards out?

Halloween 1987 vs Motherwell.  I was only six and I didn't know the rules so I was bored out my nut for 85 minutes until McCoist broke the deadlock from about 4 yards.  Suddenly it all made sense.

14 th February 1962. European Cup match against Standard Liege. We won 2-0 with goals from my boyhood hero Ralph Brand and a penalty by Eric Caldow. 76,000 at Ibrox that night. Awesome for a 9 year old. That was the night wee Willie Henderson got caught up in traffic and missed the game. Alex Scott took his place.
