I don't want McIness but will back him if he gets the job.

The sheep had 35 minutes with us down to 10 men to get the equaliser but failed. I didn't see anything in the two games to convince me that McInnes is tactically astute.

His record in Europe is poor too. We need to advance in Europe to earn money to invest in the team. Doubt Derek is capable of that.

If we do sign him it will be a three year deal. The thought of failing in Europe amother 3 times is scary.

If we are going to pay compensation for a manager we should be looking at a higher calibre of candidate who has done better in Europe.

McInnes actually did fairly well in Europe, posted it before:

As manager of shite scottish side.

If those results were as manager of Rangers then yes I'd agree they are terrible but they aren't

Saying that McInnes bottles it in big games is like saying Henman bottled it in big matches. It just so happens he’s at the level where by the time they get to big games, his opponent is just much better equipped.

He’ll move us forward.

Aye cause a wildcard entry called goran ivanesivic who was due to retire was better than henmam in the semi final of wimbledon.

henman did bottle it, 2 sets and a break up and beaten by the rain.

I get your post but your tennis knowledge is not up to scratch ?

I wouldn’t be at all surprised if the players were informed that this is murtys last game in charge and went out to end his 2nd tenure on a high cos let’s be quite honest here, the Dundee game everyone looked lost- we were like a team of no hopers in crisis just waiting for the season to end. Fast forward 4 days and put a dominant display on show and a few days after that we show grit and determination that’s been missing for quite some time.

im not having that murty is a better manager than derek, I think the players finally (and it makes me pissed off) finally took their thumb out there arses and actually turned up for football matches.  The new manager has got to get this squad producing games like that week on a consistent basis even agai st the tims. Cos the right prep and application we’ll start to claw them back in

We need an experienced manager, quite apart from everything else theres a big man management job to be done in that dressing room, we need a gaffer who's gonna be a gaffer, demand total respect from the players and make demands of them, Murty isn't that guy, he's the good guy in the classic good guy bad bay duo.

i think DM learn't most of what he's knows sitting on the bench watching Walter, and he defo knew how to manage -players.

His record isn't good enough for him to be Rangers manager imo. You can blame the players he brought in but it was him that signed them.

Not impressed in the slightest. Signing McIness is tantamount to accepting second place behind the taigs and losing in Euro playoffs for the next 3 years. Be wiser investing in a manager with a good Euro pedigree. Would pay for himself 10 fold.

He' a better answer than what we have had in a while but time will tell if he' the right answer. None of us can know that yet.

What I will say is he needs to be backed as your only as good as they players you have or bring in. Funding is key and no matter the manager if we don' have that we won't touch the title for a long time.

Absolutely bang on.

He's the most sensible decision we've made in a while. He will bring consistency at the very least.

Will he win us the title? Jury is out. Will he bridge some of the gap? Personally I think he will. He needs backed by the board and I believe he will make sensible transfers with that money.

We won't be in this position this time next season I firmly believe that. When Caixinha was appointed I was adamant we would be where we are now.

We've a cheek to criticise McInnes results in Europe after Progres disaster.

Its always good to de-stablise your competition while at the same time making yourself stronger, no?

We won't be de-stabilising them though, in my opinion. They will get stronger as they will likely get a better manager in place. I am sure of it. I am sure they are too. We won't be making ourselves stronger either. It's a downward step even from our interim youth coach.

With regards to  McInnes I still fail to see or understand just what he would bring to us to take us forward?

i am obviously missing something that others can see or is it down to the fact he's one of us?

In these 2 games he was out thought tactically by a youth team coach.

i would have no worries if Murty was given til the end of the season to see what he could do.

Hate to keep going back to it but I will.

Alex McLeish had one European tie against Mypa-47 of Finland and lost 3-1 at home and won 2-0 away to go out on away goals.

He still got the job and got us to the Champions League last 16.

Honestly, there is no guarantee McInnes will be good but nor is there any he will be shite.
