DEREK McINNES’ decision to stay at Aberdeen leaked out on social media late afternoon.

Dave Cormack got the message by text almost 48 hours earlier.

When the Aberdeen director’s phone buzzed at midnight on Tuesday, it convinced him his manager was staying.

The Dons might have lost two on-field battles with Rangers in the last nine days but they’ve won the war over their manager.

And US-based Cormack — back in the Granite City on club business this week — believes that the Red Army should celebrate.

He told SunSport: “Derek texted me on Tuesday night at midnight and said he loved Aberdeen, he loved managing the team and he loved what we have created. We were 100 per cent convinced he wanted to stay here and we were always confident that would be the case.

No one is perfect, and this institution balls were in the hands of mike ashley until this board challenged him. And where is ashley now ? I remember the "well done king and the board" posts. And alot of them.

Has our own success made our standards hard to reach, perhaps, should we rest on that, absolutely not.

But its true, people greet when its going bad and anything good is written off and forgot. And before anyone says no im not a king lover , but id rather him than ashley, and the scum before him.

And the point also to be made is why an apparent Rangers fan decided to turn down his big career move, unless im missing something thats not the boards fault.

unless u want our chairman to beg aberdeen managers to come to us, if so then god help Rangers.

Utter tripe.

The record shows that this board's performance has been abomniable since day one, when they came to power on a platform of lies and deception.

It's been nothing but lies and spin ever since, treating fans with utter contempt.

It is obvious this board are not here for the betterment of this institution, that much is now very clear,  but to fulfill a self serving agenda at our expense.

This board stand or fall on their own merit and their time is up.

Any manager who has a decent reputation and who is working with a club/chairman who he trusts, would be off his fucking head to come to work for the vermin who form our board.

The statement is a classless embarrassment which is entirely concomitant with the crooks and incompents who populate our boardroom. It also prejudices the club in any future negotiations with other potential managers. Who would want to enter in to talks with these pricks if they are going to release defamatory statements about you if you turn them down.

Maybe now the idiots who still greet about the Ashley and the Easdales bogeymen will now realise that we have ended up in the hands of those who are every bit as bad and quite possibly worse.

They’ve created fuck all, they took advantage off us getting punted down the leagues, they couldn’t even beat the taigs with their shitest managers in years.

we’ve 100% dodged a bullet with this.

Can't do nothing about someone turning down the job but that statement is an embarrassment. No doubt the budget offered was the reason. The real mistake was in wasting time and money on Pedro.

Fuck knows where here we go from here. Probably some retiree.

The same pedro wasters who beat his superstars

McInnes made the right decision for him and from where I'm sitting probably the right one for us, but the real villains of this recent piece of comedy theatre is this board.

As for that abomination of a statement, the board need fucking horse whipped before they depart the premises. It's in Jabba style and we ultimately pay that greasy cunt for his services. We wouldn't know good PR if we fell over it.

The statement is an absolute embarrassment. A bunch of  kids could be more professional. It's not the first time either. Whoever it is needs punted and same with whoever sanctioned it. In fact it's just not good enough for our club to be run like this and we should ask the board to put us up for sale. They simply don't have the cash or ability it seems to run us properly. If no one comes in then fair enough we keep going but they should be forced to concede the obvious and try and find us a good owner.
