Where I think Murty needs help is when he looks like a rabbit in the headlights. For long periods during the OF game he just stood there watching the game instead of trying to influence it ~ hence why Niko played for as long as he did and no other changes happened sooner.

I’d like Jimmy to snap him out of it and make the required changes when they need changing and not as some reactionary afterthought.

Think you're being unfair on Murty, Walter Smith spent long periods of games sitting in the directors box and we still enjoyed great success.

Not every manager has to jump about like a deranged leprechaun in order for his players to carry out instructions, the odd handstand should be more than enough.

When talking about Niko staying on for so long you have to take into account who was on the bench and how well the team were playing in the second half.

But how many times did Durrant get slapped about the head and sent on his way to the dugout with fresh instructions.  Poor ian probably covered more miles doing that than he did in a game. Great video on here about that.:mutley:

Smith sat in the stand at the start of the game to get a better view of play. He used his appearance at the touchline to influence the game.
