JAMES TAVERNIER believes he still has unfinished business at Rangers as he insisted he is fully committed to the club.

The right-back has been an integral part of the plans at Ibrox once again this term and was on the scoresheet as Aberdeen were beaten 2-0 on Wednesday night.

Tavernier is out of contract at the end of next season and he is in no rush to consider his options after being linked with a return to England in recent weeks

He said: “I don’t like to get into speculation. I’m fully committed to Rangers. I’m still learning here and I’m still growing here.

“I’m still under contract for another 18 months so I’m really happy here.

“I came here to win trophies. Also, in all the Old Firm games I’ve played, I’ve only been on the winning side once so far. I want to win some more of them. I still have unfinished business as a Rangers player.

“That (a new contract) is down to the club. As I say, I’ve still got 18 months to go. It’s totally down to the club if they want to extend my contract. I’ll have to wait and see.”

Hope he stays, definitely been much improved recently.

Yes . I may have to hold the hands up . Tavs form has been like the first 6months of his contract with us .

He is playing very well and I'm starting to like him all over again

Long may it continue

Why sell our best players???

He'll be off at some point regardless. I know he says he's got unfinished business with us, but he recently joined an agency which specialises getting players into the premier league.

Offering him an extension means we get the most monies possible for him when he does eventually leave.

If he goes then it has to be for big money he'd be difficult to replace but I'd never like to see us hawking our best players around like the taigs are doing with Dembele, imo Tav is every bit as good as Tierney so should be priced accordingly he's improving all the time.

I agree, which is why we need him on a new contract because his value decreases as we get closer to this one expiring.

He's the best crosser of the ball we've had in years. Maybe as far back as McCann?

Always been a fan of his and I dont think his defending is anywhere near as bad as some make out!

Hes only 26 and suit the modern day fullback style to a T as well as a major threat from set pieces.

We should be offering him an improved contract with at least another 3 years and maybe putting in a minimum fee clause, we arrent going to stop him leaving to go to a premier league club but we should make sure we are in a position to demand a good fee if he decides he wants to go.
