The right-back has been an integral part of the plans at Ibrox once again this term and was on the scoresheet as Aberdeen were beaten 2-0 on Wednesday night. Tavernier is out of contract at the end of next season and he is in no rush to consider his options after being linked with a return to England in recent weeks He said: “I don’t like to get into speculation. I’m fully committed to Rangers. I’m still learning here and I’m still growing here. “I’m still under contract for another 18 months so I’m really happy here. “I came here to win trophies. Also, in all the Old Firm games I’ve played, I’ve only been on the winning side once so far. I want to win some more of them. I still have unfinished business as a Rangers player. “That (a new contract) is down to the club. As I say, I’ve still got 18 months to go. It’s totally down to the club if they want to extend my contract. I’ll have to wait and see.”

Prso's headband 35,278
He’s put the ball in the clubs court, that certainly doesn’t seem like he wants away, more like he’s too laidback for his own good which gives us all the fear Contract extension till 2021 and give him what Cruz Azul are paying for Pena. simplythebest 11,453
Hopefully try and get something sorted soon with the contract then, no point being forced into a cheap sale just when he's doing well

I know he says he's got unfinished business with us, but he recently joined an agency which specialises getting players into the premier league. Offering him an extension means we get the most monies possible for him when he does eventually leave.

If he goes then it has to be for big money he'd be difficult to replace but I'd never like to see us hawking our best players around like the taigs are doing with Dembele, imo Tav is every bit as good as Tierney so should be priced accordingly he's improving all the time. I agree, which is why we need him on a new contract because his value decreases as we get closer to this one expiring.
TMB 14,167
A new improved 5 year contract for him and Morelos. We should be building our team around these guys and insure if we do lose one or both we'll make a fortune.

He's the best crosser of the ball we've had in years. Maybe as far back as McCann?
Del 667
Always been a fan of his and I dont think his defending is anywhere near as bad as some make out! Hes only 26 and suit the modern day fullback style to a T as well as a major threat from set pieces. We should be offering him an improved contract with at least another 3 years and maybe putting in a minimum fee clause, we arrent going to stop him leaving to go to a premier league club but we should make sure we are in a position to demand a good fee if he decides he wants to go.
