No just the ones who have at least quadrupled in value into our most valuable asset who has had a genuine bid in the most recent window.

The one we could renegotiate contract with at a cost of a couple of hundred thousand til summer that could allow us to insert a buyout clause worth several million more than was even offered.

I'd say very unlike Martin Bain..

One gets they all want simple stuff in any workplace even more so in football.

Should stick a big dirty £20 Million release clause in it, even though no ones going to pay it it’ll let clubs know we want serious money for him but are willing to sell.

Why, if hypothetically he got called up by Columbia and started banging goals in at international level - we could get more from EPL clubs. I'm not saying for a second he's worth that, but when EPL clubs are bidding over £30 million for Troy Deeney, and the money expected to rise -  we'd be crazy to

There's no need to put a buy out clause on unless his agent asks for one. What you don't factor in is that a buyout clause may be a lot now, but if football fees continue going through the roof - in 5 years time it's not such a good fee. Look at 5 years ago, If Liverpool had put a £50million buy out clause on Coutinho (which would've been a lot of money at the time) they'd have lost about £100million if he didn't sign a new deal and remove it.

I sure there's a Columbian guy that posts on here and he say's for strikers Columbia are pretty well off so he's a good bit down the list.

An extra 10k a week for 20 weeks will cost us 200k. That 200k could turn into another 13 goals, a Scottish cup and reducing the gap considerably on the tarriers.

It could also translate into £10 million plus in a transfer fee.

Or we say no, his head goes down, his attitude starts to stink and we have a disheartened talent actively seeking to move and we’ll probably lose millions.

So the solution is to under pay the most valuable player?

No pay him the contract he was more than happy to sign.  Or the alternative pay a player more that's leaving and give into all the other players who also want a bump and lose all the profit we make on this sale.

What is it that's hard to understand here.:duh:

And the message this sends out that if you're young and promising come to Ibrox and even if you quadruple in value due to performances we will resolutely stick to the terms of the original contract.

Roll up roll up...

His contract was as a player valued at what we paid for him ie 1 to 2m. He is now valued in the market at 8m. He deserves rewarded for becoming our most valuable asset and it is sound business practice to pay a little more now to reward this if the terms of contract can be renegotiated into millions more profit for us.

Neither I nor anyone else is suggesting simply giving him a fortune more with nothing in it for us.

Why is it so difficult to comprehend?

he is making us a profit of approx £1M FOR EVERY MONTH HE PLAYS FOR US. I think the least we can do is reward him.

Thats what he looked like up at Fraserburgh.

To be fair that's how most people look when they have to spend an evening in Fraserburgh.

All joking aside though, Morelos could be one of our best buys in years and if we have to double his wages to make him happier then do it he may prove to be more than an investment, he may become a legendary Ranger if he continues to score goals for us in important games.
