mossblownblue 2
These are players who would have been world class barring horrendous injuries. Do bears have any other players in mind who would have went on to have been world class
To Be A Ranger 4,032
Lesdey? Nice name.

JukeBoxJohn 3,060
For non Rangers Hargreaves and Dean Ashton are probably worth a mention, not sure about world class though. Also, Lesdey
Marky. 6,923
Perhaps not world class by any means, but Kevin Thomson would have been an exceptional midfielder for a longer time than he was barring injury.
Spliffy 643
Stevie Smith before his injury/illness hell was more of a prospect than Hutton. Not same level as Durrant or Mols of course.

pcbear 10,913
Durrant and Mols both came back but mere shadows of their pre injured selfs, they were very different types of players but both top top footballers. In todays market pre injury at the top of their game they would be worth silly money

tannerall 25,935
kirK brOAdfoot's career seemed to spiral downward after dropping that egg on his foot. And our very own Paul Gascoigne ruined the potential peak of this guy's career....... "Ahead of the 1990 World Cup, England captain Bryan Robson was given the unwanted challenge of trying to get Paul Gascoigne (who was fast asleep) out of his bed. He tried, he failed. After he picked the bed up and tipped Gazza out, he then dropped it on his toe and broke it"
McEwan's Lager 30,473
Mols wouldn’t have been a world class player. He was 28/29 when he was injured and if he came back at the same level it’s arguable he would never have got in the Dutch team in front of van Nistelrooy, Kluivert, Bergkamp or Makaay. Even Peter van Vossen was getting picked ahead of him pre and post injury. He had a class quarter of a season for us but let’s not pretend he was doing it consistently at a high level for a few years before like Durrant was at European level before he got injured. Just because he had some good competition doesn't mean mols wasn't showing it at the very top level. Im not saying he would have done it for 5 years, but there's no doubt at that time he looked capable of playing for anyone. Dado peso didn't start making an impact in football until he was about 25 and he went all the way to the European cup final. There are many examples of players who are late developers. By the same token some like kluivert are pretty much done by the time they are 27.

tannerall 25,935
Who knows, would he have became the world's greatest ever manager (in my opinion) if his career as a footballer hadn't been shattered ? Coincidently I just read "THe Damned United" for first time recently. One of the best football books I have read.

esquire8 42,315
Pato Recoba The Ronaldo - even though he was world class without them horrendous injuries could've been the best ever. Rossi Salas Adriano - not due to injury but was unplayable very early on in his career.
K.A.I 36,183
I think Brian Reid and Scott Nisbet had the potential to captain team GB at the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta if they never got injured and possibly win 20 million pound moves to Brondby and Oldham respectively
