kirK brOAdfoot's career seemed to spiral downward after dropping that egg on his foot.

And our very own Paul Gascoigne ruined the potential peak of this guy's career.......

"Ahead of the 1990 World Cup, England captain Bryan Robson was given the unwanted challenge of trying to get Paul Gascoigne (who was fast asleep) out of his bed.

He tried, he failed. After he picked the bed up and tipped Gazza out, he then dropped it on his toe and broke it"

Mols wouldn’t have been a world class player.

He was 28/29 when he was injured and if he came back at the same level it’s arguable he would never have got in the Dutch team in front of van Nistelrooy, Kluivert, Bergkamp or Makaay.

Even Peter van Vossen was getting picked ahead of him pre and post injury.

He had a class quarter of a season for us but let’s not pretend he was doing it consistently at a high level for a few years before like Durrant was at European level before he got injured.

Fuck up. Just because he had some good competition doesn't mean mols wasn't showing it at the very top level.

Im not saying he would have done it for 5 years, but there's no doubt at that time he looked capable of playing for anyone.

Dado peso didn't start making an impact in football until he was about 25 and he went all the way to the European cup final. There are many examples of players who are late developers. By the same token some like kluivert are pretty much done by the time they are 27.

Robsons problem was the shoulder problem not his toe. He still had a more than decent career.

Who knows, would he have became the world's greatest ever manager (in my opinion) if his career as a footballer hadn't been shattered ?

Coincidently I just read "THe Damned United" for first time recently. One of the best football books I have read.
