  1. 1. Does murty deserve the job on a longer term basis if we don't beat them before the end of the season

    • Yes, deserves it as he's shown he's capable already

    • Yes, as long as other results are good and we finish 2nd

So I'll kick off, I think needs to beat them at least once and end the season well... What are your thoughts

If he puts up a good showing in the matches against them and also secures second spot with room to spare, I would give him more time.

If he gets heavily beaten by them or drops more stupid points against the cannon fodder then he should go with our best wishes.

He's not the man imo.

I would say though I think he is up for it. Just not capable enough.

Maybe not the best choice of wording from me. That's what I meant really. Admin feel free to amend this if you see it.

If we don’t win the cup he shouldn’t get it

I think after he chose to comment on the players reaction to the draw, he's almost made that a must win.

I also agree if we beat them and then don't win the final, id be very reluctant to keep him on.

Why no names visible?

No. Not up to it regardless of how the rest of the season goes.

He could win both (which we won't) and i'd still need convinced.

I just can't take to the idea. At all.

I'm probably alone here... But we could get guardiola and I'd still be shitting it that he's not up to it.

Sounds ridiculous as we won't get a name like that and it should be a doddle for a proper manager but I just don't trust any manager.

I also think the fact that I prefer murty to Warburton and Pedro means I'm willing him to do well. I do have doubts about him being ready and being influencing enough as a manager though.

If he doesn't work out the signs were there the day he did that backwards roll/headstand thing.

Done the second option.

If he can get second, we really can't expect much more of him. He took over in difficult circumstances and has done fairly well all things considered.

We still don't have the quality to overtake the scum and that's mostly down to finances.

He needs to toughen up and toughen that squad up and stop the nice guy shit and being so loyal to favourites.

Unless we can afford/attract a serious name and that equals no cunt from this backwater, then I go with him as a new average joe manager coming in just causes disruption and disappointment and more wasted money.

Would only get rid of him if an outstanding candidate became available in the summer

We've been playing some of the most enjoyable football to watch since Advocaat, albeit several levels below that standard.

Like all fans I love SWS but the football in his second spell was pragmatic and dour. The least said about the McCoist years the better. I enjoyed Warburton's 4-3-3 initially but there was no end product when we got promoted to the premiership, and Caixinha was a long ball merchant.

Winning is vital, but it has to come with entertaining football for me. For that reason I think Murty deserves next season.

We need a “ It Doesn’t Matter He’s the Cheap Option and he’s got the Job”

I think Saturday will tell us a lot.

Can he lift the players, & turn the hurt of that defeat into a positive force?

Or, will the players feel sorry for themselves - after all, they seemed pretty bullish about meeting the scum when the cup draw was made.

Then their best chance in ages comes along & they still get beaten.

It would be easy to slip into a negative mindset after that & it’s up to Murty to shake them out of it.
