Jermaine Defoe (Bournemouth)

Recommended Posts

Loan would be a no brainer but anything else is daft, 4 goals this season in a good attacking team hardly screams stopping 10IAR

He was a great goal scorer, but is he still that player?

I think he has only scored 4 this season and on £65K a week if the Sun is to be believed, so Bournemouth will have to pay maybe £35K for him to come to us, why do they not sell him to another team in England.

He's never won anything in his career, he might want to come and win a trophy instead of another relegation fight/move to the championship

I could understand that mate it just seems a strange move for Bournemouth to make when this must be about his last season unless he goes way down the leagues the following one.

If it happens then it will mean Stevie G thinks he still has a good season in him and who am I to argue with his opinion.

If Gerrards signing all these guys, he might as well pull on the boots.

He is not building a 5 a side legends team ffs

I think it could be a decent move, a risky one but one that could easily pay of, he's been one of the best finishers in the EPL over the years, not too sure if he still have the turn of pace over the 15yrds but he's a clever little player and knows where the net is.

Could be worth the risk for a year? If we pay 40 - 50% of his wage, he'll be expensive but wouldn't be surprised, depending on how Gerrard sets his team up, if he was to go on and bag 30 goals.

.....or alternatively be shite?!

He is not on 100k a week, he is on around 70k and contracted until 2020.

I have seen him play a few times this season and to be honest he is still a decent player, just doesn't fit Bournemouth's style of play.

Similar mould to Morelos but obviously a classy finisher with a lot lot more mileage in the tank.

I wouldn't be against a loan deal for him and think Bournemouth would be happy to shift him out but they would be expecting at least 50% wage contribution I would guess which is still a lot of money for us.

Doubt it will happen to be honest and would rather we spent wages like that on guys like Solanke etc.

No idea what nick he’s in these days. Would have run riot a few years back.

Would run riot here now.

£6M / £100K = ‘Score for fun for sixty weeks up here’

Allegedly on £65k a week and game time down the road dwindling due to injuries.

if we got six months out him fit he’d out score Morelos over a season. Fact.

If it’s not financially crippling I would give him a shot

It makes me physically sick that an outfit like Bournemouth can pay players £65k per week.

Heard recently that season tickets make up less than 4% of their income. Fucking boak.

Well spotted.

He would though. It’s as close to a fact as you will find on the thread.

There. That’s better.

Does their ground not only hold like 10,000 or something? Absolutely mental for a prem team
