Wallace unlikely in my opinion, has had problems playing and with the discipline this year. Jack has not proven himself. Alves should have had the character for it, but will be gone. Tav not a strong enough character, and Miller should be gone. Can't see any other with the leadership quality or experience amongst current squad.

I think our new manager will bring in his own captain. probably an already established, solid, respected and successful player already.

I'm sure Mr Gerrard will be reading this so your opinion matters, after all we are the best informed football forum on the internet without which many high rated Sottish football journalists would have no copy (sic).................

If the rumours of Rooney are true, then I believe he should be captain.

I'm confused that we are going to wait til 2019 until we appoint a captain..???..surely we need one for the season starting (Europa) July 2018..???

Edited.

Almost 600 members on here just  with assorted admin, moderators and lurking Scottish sports journalists, yet no one noted the obvious schoolboy error.

See this is what we need on the park, someone on the park who notices what us going on and cries "that's bollocks" where necessary and shows other team members the way. Well done @TEFTONG, obvious RM Captain/Admin material right there.

(Will exempt Scottish journalists from above criticisms, apologies to those  guys, we already know most of them struggle with the English language, and they are not even scouse)

Anyone that runs 50 yards to the ref and shouts in his face "why you not booking that cunt when you booked us for less"...

Wallace and Tav shit out from confrontation with opponents and ref.

Alves may not be most liked but he at least stood up for our players

When was this again?

Good call, has captained Argentina. Ex Liverpool too.

Get in there "Masher".

He also tore his arsehole while blocking a shot in the semi finals of the World Cup 2014

Without knowing the fate of Wallace, or who will come in during the summer transfer window, it's impossible to even have a guess at who next seasons captain will be.

What's wrong with guessing.

Thousands guessed our new manager. Surely someone mentioned Gerrard ?

With the current squad, McCrorie is the only one vocal enough to wear the captain's armband. Maybe a little young but he seems to have the character to step up for it. If not him, and IF they come in, it'd have to be between McGregor or McArthur.
