2017/18 In A Nutshell

Recommended Posts

The defensive stat is shocking.

I’m optimistic and hopeful that we create a strong spine in the summer.

I’d take a keeper, a couple of defenders and a strong no nonsense midfielder. It all starts by making yourself tough to beat, and we were the opposite this year.

Every team in the league except for Aberdeen and Hearts to an extent knew how to play us. They came with no fear and they took the piss. That can’t happen next season.

Steven Gerrard, it’s down to you.

Our record at Ibrox is a joke . That's the first thing we need to sort out .

Our record at Ibrox is a direct indication of the problem. The team lacks courage and gets nervous in front of the big crowd of high expectation fans. Caixinha knew the lack of bottle but didn’t know enough about management to address it. Murty typified the loser mentality.

Gerrard needs to fix the courage and big match mentality. The no surrender attitude and the never say die spirit coupled with being able to play a bit

it can be done

You're right . We don't have the players with a strong enough mentality and previous managers have been unable to address that .  Souness did just that when he came - turned the existing players into winners and is something that SG and his team will have to emulate with the limited funding available .

Sort that out , and it's a big step forward .

A disappointing season all round but on the bright side septic are not that good, Brenda usually buys crap players and wastes money. If Gerrard and Allen can ship out some of the shite and bring in good tough players who have the will to win, next season will be a lot closer.

Top goalscorers in the league but conceded the most in the top 6.

Lost 10 games the majority of them at Ibrox.

No manager for most of the season yet finish 12 points behind the greatest, most humble and respectful side to ever grace the game.

The campaign of Sporting Integrity and refereeing decisions evening themselves out.

Another season from hell, but we go again in a couple of months time.

Let's go.

and with poor ref decisions this week we should only be 8 points behind. And if we didn't have such an awful home record we could have won this league.

We didn't come close and that is due to the incompetence and shortsightedness of an under achieving and lack of ambition board.

I'd hate to find a silver lining but...while we'll all agree coming 3rd, 12 points behind those cunts is not acceptable under any circumstance, it's better than 39 points. Plus we've not had a manager until the last 2 games of the season...

We need to hold those useless bastards on the board to account. Next season is a big gamble, but we need to back Gerrard.

The players showed today they have plenty of character.  I'm not one to make knee jerk reactions but based on the results, performances and reactions to bad results this seaaon - we just aren't good enough.  It's not a mentality problem, it's a quality problem.

I'd like to see us sign a top glass goalkeeper, a couple of solid mid-late 20's centre backs as an absolute priority.  If we don't make those signings then it won't matter who we sign in other positions because we will keep conceding.  McGinn wouldn't be a bad signing but we have quite a lot of centre mids.. the 2 centre backs are the absolute musts imo.  I think Morelos will rip it up next season with a good break and the learning experience of this season.
