BridgeIsBlue 66,604
After the last few seasons I've really gone off them altogether tbh. I think they're a luxury which we simply can't depend on going forward, imo we should be looking at three top drawer centre backs with a defensive midfielder in front of them, and have three central midfielders ahead of him with two strikers. Thoughts?
Marky. 6,923
Wingers and/or fullbacks to allow you to stretch the play and make most of space. Can’t help but think your suggestion may be too contested. Im happy for us to have wingbacks though, with the defensive midfielder and three centre half’s. Imagine having McCrorie and Rossiter in front of a back three with wingbacks either side. Would certainly prove to tidy up a leaky leaky weak defence and midfield.
Popular Post MasterD 7,435
Prefer 1 or the other tbh but not both at the same time. 2 attacking fullbacks with 2 wingers doesn’t work. Bristol loyal, Geo17, BridgeIsBlue and 2 others
MasterD 7,435
Or 1 of each at either side. Smith used to have a back 4 like Papac Weir Bougherra Whittaker Whittaker would attack, Papac not so much. Davis/Naismith ahead of Whittaker would move inside to give him the space, on the left it would be someone like Lafferty/Weiss/Wylde that would attack from that side. It made it easier to attack either side while still keeping enough at the back and middle of the park.

Was just about to post the exact same! Wingbacks OR wingers, we must be the only club in Europe that plays both?
