It’s the refs tha use it and get the decision wrong that are the joke

It isn't stopping wrong decision regardless so it's pointless.

all it does is slow the game down, cause 11 muppets making daft video signs at every foul in dangerous areas.

Its ruining the game, imagine the final of the World Cup and that Iranian pen been given

ref would be assassinated like wee Escobar in Columbia and rightly so

Bottom half could be something like this.

Russia vs Spain

Croatia vs Denmark

Mexico vs Switzerland

Japan vs England/Belgium

They will be up against it if they meet Spain that late in the comp but they good enough for me

Best world cup in a long time. Really enjoying it. Only thing missing is the fighting in the stands we were promised.

That ref in the POR/IRN game couldn't handle it, should never have been picked for a world cup. And that diddy Mark Lawro needs to remember its a penalty that was getting spoke about, not a goal scoring opportunity.

Maybe each team should get one VAR challenge per game,if they're successful they keep their challenge if not they lose it.

I think Tennis has a system like this.  The players themselves can challenge a decision at their discretion and the replay is then shown for all to see.  If each team had one VAR challenge per match it would limit the amount of calling for it and it's better each team decide when it should be used rather than the ref.  When Mitrovic was pulled down that was a good time to use VAR yet the Referee didn't.

Spain will up their game and beat Russia. Uruguay v Portugal is 50-50

Honestly think Uruguay would have been better off getting Spain. In terms of how both play Uruguay could catch them on the counter and defend when needed.

Its the VARs that decide when to use it with the help of replays. If between them and the ref on the pitch cant get the decisions correct then we're pretty much fucked.

Haven’t England already won it?  I’m sure that’s what the TV coverage has suggested

England will be going into the knockout stages having played only one serious game. The game against panama was a training exercise and the game against Belgium will be a glorified friendly. That's no preparation for when it gets serious.
