Emailed that fatty Pat Mair from Talk Now who is in the article spouting her pish purely so she reads it and knows shes a stoater

No doubt get no reply since it details the difference between sacking and reporting someone who abused a position of trust and running a child sex ring and covering it up for decades

Her ambassador is some shitey actor from River City who's a rabid taig, it really isn't hard to join the dots

Bottom line, this so called Bear is looking for cash, not justice.

The club did the right thing at the time by informing the police, what more could they do ?

It’s deflection pure and simple, why have Hivs not been approached if they knew about him before he moved to us ? That’s where the guilt lies.

Whoever penned that statement for Rangers should be shown the door.  It is terrible PR to be in any way defensive in such matters and missed an open goal to take the higher ground and call for a full open investigation of the conduct of all clubs in dealing with child abuse claims.

I agree mate. The statement is fuckin awful.

Previously reported....

***** A statement from the Ibrox club said: "Rangers is now aware of an alleged incident involving an individual who worked very briefly for the club more than 25 years ago.

“It’s understood the individual was dismissed immediately and that the police were informed.

"Rangers wishes to stress that all employees adhere to the strictest codes of conducts, especially when dealing with children and young people" ****

An old DR article with Rangers response to what could be the same individual.

This appears to be a different story from that DR report.    "Spoken to inappropriately" is a far cry from what is being suggested in today's story.

Legally RIFC is not responsible for what occurred under RFC (2012) Plc but the main complaint should be against Hibs as they were aware of Neely's depravity and Rangers weren't.    We sacked Neely for "speaking inappropriately" as that was all that we were aware of at that time.   Hibs were aware of much worse.

The Club needs to come out with a more detailed statement about abuse and  demand an all-out enquiry at ALL clubs about historic abuse and what was known by whom and what was or in some cases wasn't reported to the authorities at the time.   With so many cases awaiting trial regarding the tims affiliated boys club there is possibly little which can be said at this time until such cases have been completed.

I'm not sure this is the same case.    Your last paragraph is spot on as is your first.

Top of the BBC Scotland news webpage :hmmm:Full Liewell agenda in swing. You couldn't make it up.

Also listened to the radio news there, he is "disappointed there's been no apology" although he has been offered Counselling and full support by Rangers.

Its horrible this happened to him, but I'm not sure what Rangers has to apologise for now, given it was dealt with entirely correctly with the full knowledge of his father at the time.  It's not as if it was covered up in any way. If it's money he is after then maybe his  legal team should be pursuing hivs as they allowed the beast to continue to be employed with access to youngsters.

This isn't whataboutery, if we had done wrong I'd be at the front with my pitchfork and so would most of us, unlike the fans of other clubs, but I'm really not seeing any wrongdoing on Rangers part here.

yes, I agree.

However, The statement from the clubs lawyers was terrible. The statement should have said police were contacted - end of. to dismiss it as "new/old company" is a shocking way to go about it - and thats what made the headline. That being said, this is an allegation that now cant be proved or the person brought to trial because the guy is dead. At the moment it is one mans word.

But again, we seem to handle this all so badly and make things worse.

He wants money we can't pay to him because it isn't their issue, he was told who to contact, that's the advise we have been given by legal advisors

It's not that hard to understand

no its not hard to understand. Whats hard to understand is how we can somehow make this front page news with our response.

Because Torbett is in court and they need 3 stories to deflect attention onto us, that's literally it

The article says nothing wrong about us, we had the perfect mix of abiding by the law, advising and supporting the victim and stressing that these sort of issues should be exposed while not letting agendas interfere, that's all the article says

It's that or pay him money he isn't owed and say we were in the wrong before it's fully investigated and done by the book, bewildering that there's actually taigs running with this today

The sick cunt was sacked and the police were contacted immediately, and the club's lawyers have presumably followed the correct procedure directing the guy to the creditors to make a claim. Legally, the club have done nothing wrong.

The current owners should still be showing the guy support though and should be dealing with his claim themselves.
