That’s a fair enough reason as it’s not like the game was on the TV or anything.

Michael O'Halloran sorry as Rangers striker regrets sitting with celtic fans during Scottish Cup Final

The striker's agent Kenny Moyes has revealed his client knows he was wrong for being amongst Hoops fans during the Hampden showpiece

Remorseful Rangers outcast Michael O’Halloran admits he was wrong to sit with celtic fans at the Scottish Cup Final which has left Ibrox fans raging.

A photo emerged on social media of the 27-year-old surrounded by Hoops punters at Hampden as they celebrated their side’s historic Double Treble.

O’Halloran, who was on the books at Parkhead as a kid and dad Michael Snr is a celtic youth coach, still has 24 months left on the four-and-a-half year Rangers deal he signed under Mark Warburton.

But he has failed to make an impression at the Light Blues and was sent on loan to former club St Johnstone by flop boss Pedro Caixinha. On his return in January he was given just a minute as a substitute under Graeme Murty last month.

O’Halloran held talks with Motherwell in January and the player’s agent Kenny Moyes claims the main reason for his trip to the National Stadium was to watch the Steelmen in the Final.

But Moyes, who hasn’t been contacted by Rangers despite the social media storm, admitted the player has held his hands up and claimed O’Halloran requested a single ticket through the SFA and hoped to be in a neutral section.

He said: “Michael didn’t realise he would be surrounded by celtic fans but hindsight is a great thing and he now regrets the decision as he accepts it doesn’t look too good.

“I know he is taking some stick from the Rangers fans but he absolutely wasn’t at Hampden as a celtic supporter. He’s a Rangers player.

“He is concerned at how it looks to the Rangers supporters but he thought he would be in a neutral section and didn’t realise until it was too late.

“Motherwell were keen on signing Michael in January and he requested a ticket for the Cup Final through the SFA to watch the game as a neutral.

“I don’t believe you shouldn’t be allowed to go and watch a game. If he knew where he was going to be sitting then he wouldn’t have gone.

“I requested a ticket through the SFA for the match and I was surrounded by celtic fans. It was hard to get tickets for he game and Motherwell handed some back so the majority of the seats were filled by celtic fans.”

Aberdeen boss Derek McInnes accused Niall McGinn of being naive when he was caught up in a similar situation after being snapped in the celtic end at Rugby Park.

Moyes hopes it isn’t the end of the road for O’Halloran at Ibrox but admits the player will probably move on after being given little chance at Ibrox.

He said: “If this had been an Aberdeen v Motherwell Cup Final it wouldn’t be mentioned but I understand the rivalry and that it’s sensitive.

“Michael hasn’t been given the opportunity to go and play at Rangers. I hope this isn’t the end of his career at Ibrox but he might need to move on but they don’t know how good he can be because he’s not had a chance.

“He’s still got two years left on his contract and Motherwell were probably the closest to signing him earlier in the season but Rangers wanted him back in January.

But once he was there he couldn’t leave? Fucking trolling cunt.

Lucky to get a ticket next to his uncle the odds of that happening must be quite slim.
