No. I don't mean Guivarc'h.

I mean, how many Gers players would have been consistently world class for a World Cup winning team ?

I'll start with Baxter, Souness, Gascooigne and Laudrup.

Honourable mentions for Jardine, Henderson,  Gough,  Cannigia and maybe Butcher.

Maybe's for Wilkins and Goram, Klos ?

Should have beens:  Kuztnesov, Jardel.........Salenko ?

Yep, just unfortunate he did not have Belgian or French grandparents, good as Belgium and France have been, he would have brought an extra something to the team.

Just think if there had been world cups before 1930, say from around 1880, then Scotland and England would have won it most often, with a few wins for Argentina, Italy, maybe  Uruguay and Austria..

A Queen's Park/Rangers 11 would have trounced anyone around the turn of the century.

Bert Konterman....

Best all rounder we ever had, could do a job nowhere, followed the great Dutch 70s tradition of every player being able to play in any position.

Shame he wasn't very good in any position.

A legend however for that great one off strike........
