Rangers development squad ran out convincing 4-0 winners against MSK Zilina in the final of a tournament hosted by Viktoria Plzen.

After winning their group yesterday against the hosts and Legia Warsaw, they took on the Slovenian outfit who topped their section ahead of West Brom and Hertha Berlin.

Serge Atakayi, Stephen Kelly and Matthew Shiels had all travelled with Steven Gerrard's first team to Spain for a pre-season training camp earlier this summer and showed their class as they comfortably beat their opponents.

Flying winger Atakayi scored against TNS in a closed doors game for Rangers and he grabbed a double while Jordan Houston netted from the spot and Andrew Dallas also scored.

And they had to do it without regular squad members Robby McCrorie, Aidan Wilson, Kyle Bradley, Glenn Middleton and Zak Rudden who were all involved with Gerrard's first team.

Graeme Murty's young side had beaten Viktoria Plzen 3-1 and drew 1-1 with Legia Warsaw in their group games.

Congratulations to Graeme Murty.

His winning mentality rubbing off in the youngsters.
