The Widow's Son 399
I've read that both were raised the Ibrox way and even cheered on Rangers when they were on celtic's books. How did they make the change from blue to green? Wasn't it hard for them? Both are celtic icons and to think that they started out on our side. WATP-FOREVER 5,231
Don't think McGrain played for Rangers - I believe Rangers & the timmigrants could have signed him, but at the time Rangers backed off - thinking he's one of them, with a Christian name like Danny. jim beam 2,188
Suppose at the time Rangers never fancied them which is strange and when you want to play football I suppose any team willing to give you a chance you would jump at it even if it is them.? WATP-FOREVER 5,231
And it is common knowledge that Dalglish did play/train for Rangers, but was classified as far too small to be a footballer. One off KD's hero was SAF.
SheriffHood 535
I would say the fault must lie with Rangers. Given the choice, both of them would have signed for us over them. I've always wondered, how the fuck did Rangers not see a talent like Dalglish, and if they did see it, why didn't we sign him. Never thought about it hard enough to look into it right enough and still can't be bothered lol.

The Widow's Son 399
Never knew that KD trained with us. I read that his Rangers here was one Don Kichenbrand.

My understanding was the Rangers assessment on dalglish was that he was a talented footballer by too small and slight to make it in the professional game. barkie 201
there was a bbc documentry recently and it's on iplayer about KD he mentions he was at Ibrox disaster in Rangers end and he speaks about watching Rangers with his dad. Geo17
The Widow's Son 399
Apparently both went to an Old Firm game circa. 1968 at Parkhead (we lost 3-1) and cheered when Rangers scored. And both were celtic signings at the time.

Seriously fucking back error of judgement - it went thru maheid every time I watched Liverpool in the 80's. Recently I have heard that both Dalglish & Souness have offered to help our manager, perhaps advise would be their only ability at the moment. Brubear 2,880
I am sure Dalglish and Jardine played for the same school team and were on our books. Jardine got offered a professional contract and Dalglish released. I think the hand written assessment on Dalglish used to sit in our trophy room but that could be myth and fokelore.
