Too many English players reckon the SPL is several notches below what they're used to and they'll be comfortable. Skill wise they may be right but the intensity and physicality of our game is tougher to handle when you're in your 30's. We need only go back a couple of seasons to Barton's rude awakening when he gave it the big man talk and then promptly imploded. I'd rather see us sign players whose best may still be to come as opposed to "pantomime players" whose best is behind them. That said, kudos to Bent for recognising the huge status of the mighty Rangers FC as one of the true greats of the game.
